Max India’s Antara Pioneers Robotic Rehabilitation in Bengaluru, Targets Growing Senior Care Market

Max India Limited’s wholly owned subsidiary, Antara Assisted Care Services Limited, has strengthened its senior care and rehabilitation offerings by introducing robotic-assisted rehabilitation technology at its Bengaluru Care Home in Bannerghatta.

The facility now features the ExoAtlet II robotic exoskeleton, along with advanced robotic systems for hand and finger rehabilitation, aimed at improving recovery for patients suffering from stroke, paralysis, neurological disorders, and orthopaedic conditions.

Advanced Robotics to Improve Patient Recovery

The newly introduced ExoAtlet II is a wearable robotic exoskeleton designed to assist patients with gait training and mobility rehabilitation.

The system enables patients to perform hundreds of consistent and physiologically accurate walking movements during therapy sessions, helping improve recovery outcomes beyond what is typically achievable through conventional rehabilitation techniques.

In addition to gait training, Antara has deployed robotic devices that support hand and finger movement therapy, providing comprehensive rehabilitation solutions for patients recovering from neurological injuries and mobility-related conditions.

Strengthening Transition and Long-Term Care

With this initiative, Antara joins a select group of healthcare providers in India offering advanced robotic-assisted rehabilitation as part of its transition and long-term care services.

The technology is expected to benefit patients recovering from:

  • Stroke
  • Paralysis
  • Parkinson’s disease
  • Neurological disorders
  • Orthopaedic injuries
  • Age-related mobility challenges

The company aims to improve patient outcomes while reducing recovery time through technology-enabled rehabilitation.

Addressing India’s Growing Senior Care Needs

The investment comes at a time when India’s ageing population is driving increased demand for specialized rehabilitation and assisted care services.

According to Ishaan Khanna, CEO of Antara Assisted Care Services, the country is witnessing a rising incidence of stroke, neurological disorders, musculoskeletal diseases, and fall-related injuries among senior citizens.

With India’s elderly population projected to reach 347 million by 2050, the need for advanced rehabilitation facilities and long-term senior care services is expected to grow significantly.

Strengthening Max India’s Healthcare Portfolio

The addition of robotic rehabilitation technology reinforces Max India’s strategy of building a comprehensive senior care ecosystem through Antara.

By integrating advanced rehabilitation technologies with specialist-led clinical care, the company aims to deliver better patient outcomes while expanding its presence in India’s fast-growing senior healthcare market.

The initiative also strengthens Antara’s position as a provider of technology-enabled rehabilitation services, supporting Max India’s long-term growth strategy in the healthcare and assisted living sector.
