Antony Waste Group Secures ₹329 Crore Solid Waste Processing Project from Thane Civic Body

Antony Waste Handling Cell Limited (AWHCL) has strengthened its footprint in municipal waste management with a fresh order from the Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC). On December 22, 2025, its material subsidiary, Antony Lara Enviro Solutions Private Limited, was awarded a major contract to develop and operate a large-scale solid waste processing facility in Maharashtra.

A Major Boost to Urban Waste Infrastructure

Under this contract, the company will set up a Mixed Solid Waste Processing Plant with a capacity ranging between 600 and 800 tonnes per day (TPD). The project will be developed on a Design, Build, Operate and Transfer (DBOT) basis on land owned by TMC at Atkoli, Taluka Bhiwandi.

The scope of work covers the entire lifecycle of the facility, including:

  • Setting up a Material Recovery Facility (MRF) to efficiently segregate mixed municipal waste

  • Complete design, engineering, construction, and commissioning of the plant

  • Operation and maintenance for 10 years, ensuring long-term performance and compliance

Financial Structure of the Contract

The overall size of the contract is estimated at ₹329.45 crore, making it a meaningful addition to AWHCL’s order book. The project involves an initial capital expenditure of around ₹67 crore, which will be reimbursed by Thane Municipal Corporation based on predefined milestones mentioned in the tender terms.

This structure helps reduce upfront financial strain while ensuring steady revenue generation during the operational phase.

Strategic Importance for Antony Waste Handling

This project further strengthens AWHCL’s long-standing relationship with the Thane municipal authority and reinforces its position as a key player in India’s urban waste management ecosystem. The 10-year concession period offers strong revenue visibility, supporting the company’s long-term growth strategy.

Commenting on the development, Chairman and Managing Director Jose Jacob highlighted that such long-term municipal contracts align with the company’s focus on sustainable value creation. The company also clarified that the contract does not involve any promoter or group company interest and is not a related-party transaction.

Regulatory Disclosure

The contract award has been disclosed in accordance with Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015, ensuring full transparency to investors and stakeholders.
