GK Energy Limited has entered into a significant contract with the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) to supply and install solar-powered water pumping systems across Maharashtra. The project is aimed at supporting sustainable agriculture and improving irrigation access through renewable energy solutions.

The contract is an amendment to an existing Letter of Empanelment (LoE) and covers the installation of 10,000 additional Off-Grid DC Solar Photovoltaic Water Pumping Systems (SPWPS). These systems will include pumps of 3 HP, 5 HP, and 7.5 HP capacities, suitable for various agricultural needs.
GK Energy’s responsibilities under the contract include:
Design and manufacturing of the solar pumping systems
Supply and transportation to project sites
Installation, testing, and commissioning
Scheme and Project Coverage
The project is being executed under the Magel Tyala Saur Krushi Pump Yojana / PM-KUSUM B Scheme, a government initiative aimed at promoting solar-powered irrigation solutions for farmers.
The installations will be carried out across the entire state of Maharashtra, making this a large-scale, statewide renewable energy deployment.
Contract Value
The total value of the 10,000 solar water pumps is estimated at ₹254.30 crore. Including GST, the overall contract consideration stands at approximately ₹276.93 crore.
Timeline and Key Conditions
GK Energy is required to complete the installation of the systems within 60 days from the date of issuance of the work order or Notice to Proceed (NTP).
A key condition attached to the Letter of Empanelment is linked to the progress of the overall tender. If the cumulative installations under the broader tender reach 100,000 units, any remaining balance quantity under GK Energy’s allocation will be automatically cancelled.
Regulatory and Compliance Details
The contract has been awarded by a domestic public utility, MSEDCL. GK Energy has confirmed that no promoter or group company has any interest in the awarding entity. The transaction does not fall under related party transactions and has been disclosed as a one-time order, in compliance with regulatory requirements.
