Shyam Metalics Approves ₹4,500 Crore Fundraising Plan to Fuel Future Growth

Shyam Metalics and Energy Limited, one of India’s leading integrated metal producers, has approved an ambitious plan to raise up to ₹4,500 crore to support its long-term expansion strategy. The decision was taken at the company’s Board meeting held on July 20, 2026, alongside the approval of its Q1 FY27 financial results and the declaration of the first interim dividend for the current financial year.

The proposed capital raise is aimed at strengthening the company’s financial position and providing flexibility to pursue growth opportunities across its metals and energy businesses.

Board Approves Fundraising of Up to ₹4,500 Crore

The Board has authorized the company to raise up to ₹4,500 crore through one or more tranches using a variety of capital market instruments.

The fundraising may be undertaken through:

  • Equity shares.
  • Equity-linked securities.
  • Convertible or non-convertible preference shares.
  • Fully or partly convertible debentures.
  • Other eligible securities permitted under applicable regulations.

To maximize flexibility, the company may access capital through multiple routes, including:

  • Qualified Institutions Placement (QIP).
  • Further Public Offering (FPO).
  • Preferential issue.
  • Private placement.
  • Any combination of the above.

The proposal remains subject to the approval of shareholders and other statutory and regulatory authorities. Shareholders will consider the proposal at the company’s 24th Annual General Meeting (AGM) scheduled for August 25, 2026.

Strategic Growth Focus

The proposed ₹4,500 crore fundraising reflects Shyam Metalics’ confidence in its long-term growth prospects. The additional capital is expected to provide financial flexibility for:

  • Capacity expansion.
  • New business opportunities.
  • Strategic investments.
  • Balance sheet strengthening.
  • General corporate purposes.
