GE Power India Secures ₹273.5 Crore Order for Saundatti Pumped Storage Expansion

GE Power India Limited (GEPIL) has announced an expansion of its existing contract with GREENKO KA01 IREP Pvt. Ltd. for the Saundatti Pumped Storage Project in Belagavi, Karnataka. This addition involves engineering, manufacturing, procurement, supply, and installation of electromechanical equipment for an extra 320 MW unit, valued at ₹2,735 million (excluding taxes). The project is slated for completion by November 22, 2027. This development builds upon the original contract awarded in April 2022, which encompassed a 1,280 MW vertical Francis pump turbine fixed speed machine setup. Notably, this order pertains to GEPIL’s Hydro Business and will be accounted for following the business transfer agreement with GE Vernova Hydro Power India Private Limited.
