Ceigall India Limited Wins ₹550 Crore Solar Project Under PM KUSUM-C in Madhya Pradesh

Ceigall India Limited has achieved a significant milestone in its renewable energy journey after emerging as the L1 bidder for a major solar power project in Madhya Pradesh. The win marks the company’s growing presence in the clean energy space and strengthens its alignment with India’s national push toward sustainable and farmer-focused power solutions under the PM KUSUM-C scheme.

Strengthening Agricultural Power Infrastructure

The project has been awarded by Madhya Pradesh Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (MPUVNL) and falls under the Surya Mitra Krishi Feeders Scheme, a key component of the PM KUSUM-C initiative. The objective of the scheme is feeder solarization—supplying agricultural feeders with dedicated, grid-connected solar power to ensure reliable electricity for farming activities.

Under this project, Ceigall India will develop Solar Photovoltaic (PV) based power plants with a combined capacity of 130 MW (AC), spread across two districts in the state. The scope includes the selection, installation, and commissioning of grid-connected solar power generating stations.

Project Cost and Execution Timeline

The total EPC value of the project is approximately ₹550 crore (including GST), reflecting a substantial investment in Madhya Pradesh’s renewable energy infrastructure.

Execution of the project is planned over a clearly defined timeline:

  • Construction and commissioning are scheduled to be completed within 18 months

  • Post commissioning, Ceigall India will undertake operations and maintenance for 25 years

  • Power generated from the plants will be sold under a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) starting from the Scheduled Commercial Operation Date (SCOD)

This structure provides long-term revenue visibility while ensuring consistent supply of clean energy to the agricultural sector.

A Strategic Step Forward

Securing the L1 bidder position places Ceigall India in line with the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy’s vision of accelerating solar adoption across rural and agricultural India. While the L1 status has been confirmed through the e-procurement portal, the formal Letter of Award (LOA) is awaited.

Beyond strengthening Ceigall’s project portfolio, the initiative contributes directly to reducing carbon emissions and easing pressure on conventional power sources. By delivering solar power directly to agricultural feeders, the project supports both environmental sustainability and rural economic resilience.
