Dilip Buildcon Limited (DBL) has taken a major step forward in India’s renewable energy journey after being declared the L-1 bidder for a large-scale solar power project in Madhya Pradesh. The project marks one of DBL’s most significant entries into the utility-scale solar EPC segment, reinforcing its strategy of diversifying beyond conventional infrastructure.

Awarded by Madhya Pradesh Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (MPUVNL), the project involves setting up grid-connected Solar PV power plants with a combined capacity of 1,363.55 MW (AC). The development is part of the Feeder Solarization component under the PM KUSUM-C (Surya Mitra Krishi Solarization) scheme.
The feeder solarization model aims to supply clean and reliable electricity directly to agricultural feeders, reducing dependence on conventional power sources while ensuring stable energy availability for farmers.
Project Size and Commercial Highlights
The scale of the project is reflected in its strong commercial profile:
EPC Contract Value: Approximately ₹4,900 crore (excluding GST)
Construction Timeline: Targeted completion within 18 months
O&M Responsibility: 25 years from the Scheduled Commercial Operation Date (SCOD)
This combination of short-term execution and long-term operational responsibility underscores DBL’s growing capability in managing complex renewable assets.
End-to-End EPC Execution
Under the EPC framework, Dilip Buildcon will handle the complete project lifecycle. This includes project development, detailed engineering, procurement of Non-DCR equipment, construction, testing, and final commissioning. Given the project’s magnitude and geographic spread, execution will be carried out through multiple Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) to ensure efficient implementation and risk management.
Long-Term Power Supply Arrangement
Electricity generated from these solar plants will be sold to Madhya Pradesh Power Management Company Limited (MPPMCL) under a competitive tariff-based Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) valid for 25 years. This structure ensures long-term revenue visibility while supporting the state’s renewable energy targets.
A Strategic Win for DBL
This project not only strengthens Dilip Buildcon’s presence in the renewable EPC space but also aligns the company with India’s broader goals of clean energy adoption, agricultural sustainability, and carbon reduction. As India accelerates its transition toward renewable power, such large-scale feeder solarization projects are expected to play a crucial role in reshaping the country’s energy infrastructure.
