Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has secured a “Significant” contract for the Mumbai Metro Line 4 project under its Transportation Infrastructure business vertical. The order, identified as Package CA-298, has been awarded by the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA).
This win further strengthens L&T’s position as a key execution partner in Mumbai’s expanding metro network.

The contract covers electrification and system infrastructure works for a 24.72 km stretch of Metro Line 4, connecting Bhakti Park (Wadala) to Cadbury Junction. The entire scope will be executed by L&T’s in-house design and implementation teams.
The major components of the project include:
Power Supply and Traction Systems: Design, manufacturing, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of power and traction systems across the 24.72 km metro corridor.
SCADA System Integration: Deployment of a Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system for the complete Metro Line 4 and 4A, covering 32 stations, depots, and receiving substations.
Station Electrical & Mechanical Works: Installation of electrical and mechanical systems, including lifts and escalators at 22 elevated stations and two depots.
Operations & Maintenance: The contract also includes five years of comprehensive maintenance, ensuring long-term reliability of the systems.
Order Value Classification
While L&T has not disclosed the exact contract value, the company categorizes a “Significant” order as one valued between ₹1,000 crore and ₹2,500 crore.
Strategic Importance for L&T
This contract marks the third consecutive order secured by L&T for the Mumbai Metro Line 4 & 4A corridor, highlighting the company’s growing role in this major urban infrastructure project.
