Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) has secured a fresh domestic railway infrastructure project after receiving a Letter of Acceptance (LOA) from the East Coast Railway. This new order further strengthens RVNL’s presence in India’s rail modernization and capacity expansion journey.

As part of the contract, RVNL will undertake the construction and setup of a Wagon Periodic Overhaul (POH) Workshop at Kantabanji. The facility will be designed to handle a capacity of 200 wagons, significantly boosting the maintenance and overhaul capability of the East Coast Railway network.
Project Value and Timeline
The total value of the project stands at ₹201.23 crore (excluding GST). Notably, RVNL emerged as the sole bidder for this contract, underlining its strong technical expertise and execution track record in railway projects. The entire project is scheduled to be completed within 18 months, reflecting an aggressive yet achievable execution timeline.
Nature of the Contract and Compliance
This order has been awarded by a domestic entity and falls well within RVNL’s normal course of business. The company has also confirmed that there are no related party transactions involved, and that its promoter group has no interest in East Coast Railway, ensuring full compliance with regulatory and governance norms.

The project follows an earlier intimation dated December 29, 2025, and was formally disclosed to both the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and BSE Limited on January 8, 2026, in line with SEBI disclosure requirements.
