Shakti Pumps Bags Major Solar Pump Order Under PM-KUSUM Scheme

On December 31, 2025, Shakti Pumps (India) Limited announced the receipt of a major domestic work order from Madhya Pradesh Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (MPUVNL). The contract has been awarded under Component-B of the PM-KUSUM scheme and covers installations across the entire state of Madhya Pradesh, marking another significant milestone for the company in India’s renewable energy journey.

Project Scope and Scale

The work order involves the deployment of 4,840 Stand-alone Off-Grid DC Solar Photovoltaic Water Pumping Systems (SPWPS). Shakti Pumps will manage the project end-to-end, taking responsibility for:

  • Designing and manufacturing the solar pumping systems

  • Supplying and transporting the equipment to project sites

  • Installing, testing, and commissioning the systems across the state

This comprehensive scope highlights the company’s integrated capabilities, from manufacturing to on-ground execution.

Contract Value

The total value of the work order stands at approximately ₹170.25 crore, inclusive of GST. On an ex-GST basis, the contract is valued at ₹156.34 crore, making it a sizable addition to Shakti Pumps’ order book.

Tight Execution Timeline

The entire project is scheduled to be completed within 120 days. Delivering thousands of solar pump systems across a large state within such a short timeframe demands precise coordination across manufacturing, logistics, and field operations.

Governance and Transparency

Shakti Pumps has clarified that the order has been awarded with full compliance and transparency. There is no interest or involvement of the promoter or promoter group in the awarding entity, and the contract does not fall under related party transactions.

Bigger Picture

This order reinforces Shakti Pumps’ growing role in supporting sustainable agriculture and clean energy adoption in India. Executing a project of this magnitude in just four months is akin to running a high-speed assembly line across an entire state—where manufacturing, logistics, and installation must operate in perfect sync to meet ambitious deadlines.

With the PM-KUSUM scheme gaining momentum, such projects not only strengthen Shakti Pumps’ market position but also contribute meaningfully to India’s renewable energy and rural development goals.
