Tera Software Limited Wins Rs. 3,022 Crore BharatNet Project Contracts for Phase-3 Middle Mile Network

Tera Software Limited, in collaboration with ITI Limited, has won two packages under BharatNet Project Phase-3 for the Middle Mile Network, covering Himachal Pradesh (Package No. 8) and West Bengal & Andaman & Nicobar (Package No. 9). The combined value of these contracts amounts to Rs. 3,022 crores.

BharatNet Project Overview:

  • Objective: BharatNet aims to bridge India’s “digital divide” by delivering high-speed broadband (100 Mbps) to all Gram Panchayats (GPs) and villages, facilitating equitable access to online services, especially in rural areas.
  • Scope: The initiative will connect 640,000 villages, blocks, and GPs nationwide with high-speed internet.
  • Funding: Supported by the Digital Bharat Nidhi (Universal Service Obligation Fund) under the Department of Telecommunications (DoT).
  • Model: Phase-3 employs a Design, Build, Operate, and Maintain (DBOM) model for the Middle Mile Network.

Tera Software Limited’s Involvement:

  • Tera Software is uniquely experienced in all three phases of BharatNet, having previously executed projects in Andhra Pradesh (Phase I) and Odisha (Phase II).
  • In Phase-3, Tera Software will handle the design, supply, construction, installation, upgrade, operation, and maintenance of the Middle Mile Network in the awarded regions.
