BCL Industries Strengthens Bio-Fuel Leadership with 150 KLPD Ethanol Expansion

BCL Industries Limited has strengthened its presence in India’s rapidly growing biofuel sector by successfully commissioning a 150 KLPD (kilolitres per day) ethanol capacity expansion at its Bathinda manufacturing facility in Punjab. The expansion significantly enhances the company’s production capabilities and reinforces its position as one of India’s leading grain-based distillery operators.

With the commissioning of the new brownfield project, the total distillery capacity at the Bathinda plant has increased to 550 KLPD, supporting the company’s long-term growth strategy and India’s ambitious ethanol blending programme.

Brownfield Expansion Boosts Production Capacity

The newly commissioned facility is a brownfield expansion, meaning it has been developed by expanding the company’s existing infrastructure rather than building a completely new plant.

The additional 150 KLPD ethanol production capacity is expected to improve operational efficiencies, increase output, and enable BCL Industries to meet the rising demand for ethanol from Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) under the Government of India’s ethanol blending initiative.
