TCS Secures Multi-Million, Multi-Year ABB Deal for AI-Powered Global Network Transformation

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has expanded its long-standing partnership with global technology company ABB, securing a multi-million-dollar, multi-year contract to modernize the company’s global network infrastructure with advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) capabilities.

The agreement, announced on July 13, 2026, marks another milestone in the over 20-year relationship between the two companies. Under the new engagement, TCS will move beyond traditional infrastructure management to provide end-to-end global network operations through an integrated Network-as-a-Service (NaaS) model, helping ABB accelerate its digital transformation journey.

TCS to Power ABB’s AI-Driven Global Network

The expanded collaboration supports ABB’s Future Network Model programme, an enterprise-wide initiative aimed at creating a standardized, centrally managed, and highly secure global network infrastructure across its worldwide operations.

As part of the project, TCS will design, integrate, manage, and operate ABB’s global network ecosystem using AI-powered technologies. The modernized platform is expected to improve operational efficiency, strengthen cybersecurity, enhance compliance, and deliver greater scalability for ABB’s growing digital business.

The transformation will also prepare ABB’s IT infrastructure for next-generation technologies while enabling faster and more intelligent network operations.

Comprehensive Network Modernization

The scope of the contract extends across ABB’s global network landscape and includes the management of a complex multi-vendor environment.

TCS will deliver:

  • AI-enabled Network-as-a-Service (NaaS)
  • Global Network Operations Center (GNOC)
  • Service Integration and Management (SIAM)
  • Advanced cybersecurity capabilities
  • Modern Local Area Network (LAN) infrastructure
  • Wide Area Network (WAN) modernization
  • Software-Defined WAN (SD-WAN) implementation
  • Intelligent monitoring and network automation

By integrating these capabilities into a unified service model, TCS aims to build a resilient and future-ready digital backbone for ABB.

Strengthening a Two-Decade Partnership

The latest agreement further strengthens the strategic relationship between TCS and ABB, which has evolved over more than two decades.

Commenting on the announcement, Alec Joannou, Group CIO of ABB, described the collaboration as an important milestone in reinforcing the company’s digital foundation to support future business growth.

Meanwhile, Anupam Singhal, President – Manufacturing at TCS, emphasized the company’s “infrastructure to intelligence” approach, highlighting that the new AI-powered network will be capable of continuously sensing, adapting, and improving as business requirements evolve.

AI Driving the Next Phase of Enterprise Networks

As enterprises increasingly invest in AI-powered infrastructure, the expanded TCS-ABB partnership reflects the growing importance of intelligent network management in supporting digital operations.

The project demonstrates how AI can enhance network reliability, automate operations, improve security, and optimize performance across globally distributed enterprises. It also reinforces TCS’s leadership in delivering large-scale digital transformation solutions for global corporations.

With this multi-year engagement, TCS is expected to play a central role in helping ABB build a smarter, more secure, and highly scalable digital network that can support its future innovation roadmap.
