KEC International Secures Rs. 1,180 Cr. Orders, Marks Strategic Entry into Data Centre Power

KEC International Limited, the flagship infrastructure Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) company of the RPG Group, has strengthened its order pipeline by securing new contracts worth ₹1,180 crore across its key business verticals. The latest order win, announced on July 14, 2026, reinforces the company’s leadership in the infrastructure sector while marking a significant milestone with its entry into India’s rapidly expanding data centre ecosystem.

KEC Wins Maiden Data Centre Transmission Project

The highlight of the latest order intake is KEC International’s first-ever transmission line project dedicated to powering a data centre in Western India.

The project involves the construction of a 400 kV transmission line, representing a strategic breakthrough for the company’s Transmission & Distribution (T&D) business. As India witnesses unprecedented investments in hyperscale data centres driven by cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and digital transformation, the demand for reliable power infrastructure is growing rapidly. By entering this niche segment, KEC has positioned itself to benefit from one of the country’s fastest-growing infrastructure opportunities.

The project also demonstrates the company’s ability to diversify into emerging infrastructure sectors while leveraging its decades of expertise in high-voltage transmission networks.

Strong Order Wins Across Multiple Business Segments

Apart from the landmark data centre project, KEC secured several significant contracts across its diversified portfolio.

Transmission & Distribution

The company’s T&D business received multiple domestic and international orders, including:

  • Additional transmission and distribution projects across India.
  • Tower supply contracts in the Middle East.
  • Supply of transmission towers, hardware, and poles in the Americas.

These projects further strengthen KEC’s international presence and reinforce its leadership in power transmission infrastructure.

Renewable Energy

KEC has secured a 200+ MW Solar PV project in Western India from an existing private sector developer.

The order reflects the company’s growing footprint in India’s renewable energy sector as demand for utility-scale solar infrastructure continues to accelerate under the country’s clean energy transition.

Civil Business

The Civil division received an order for additional structural works for a 150 MW thermal power plant being developed by a leading private sector company in Eastern India.

This order adds to the company’s diversified civil engineering portfolio across industrial and power infrastructure projects.

Cables & Conductors

KEC also secured multiple orders for its Cables & Conductors business in both domestic and international markets, highlighting the continued demand for its power transmission products.

Year-to-Date Order Intake Crosses ₹5,200 Crore

Commenting on the development, Vimal Kejriwal, Managing Director & CEO of KEC International, expressed satisfaction with the broad-based order wins across business segments. He noted that the latest contracts have pushed the company’s year-to-date (YTD) order intake beyond ₹5,200 crore, reflecting strong business momentum across domestic and international markets.

The company continues to benefit from healthy demand across transmission infrastructure, renewable energy, civil construction, and industrial products while steadily expanding into emerging sectors such as data centre infrastructure.
