ITI Ltd Bags Rs 856.39 Cr BSNL 4G Expansion Order, Reinforcing ‘Atmanirbhar’ Telecom Push

ITI Limited has secured a major contract worth ₹856.39 crore from Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) for the expansion of its 4G mobile network in the West Zone, strengthening the company’s position in India’s rapidly evolving telecom infrastructure sector.

The order marks another significant milestone for the state-owned telecom equipment manufacturer and reinforces its role in supporting the Government’s Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative through indigenous telecom technology and infrastructure.

₹856.39 Crore Turnkey Project

Under the contract, ITI Limited will execute a comprehensive turnkey project covering the planning, engineering, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of BSNL’s 4G mobile network across 7,613 sites in western India.

The project is expected to play a key role in expanding BSNL’s 4G services while enhancing mobile connectivity across the region using domestically developed telecom solutions.

Builds on Previous BSNL Partnership

The latest order follows ITI Limited’s successful execution of BSNL’s Phase IX.2 4G deployment project, where the company partnered with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) to roll out 4G infrastructure across 23,633 sites in the West Zone under a contract valued at ₹2,640 crore.

The repeat order reflects BSNL’s continued confidence in ITI’s project execution capabilities and its contribution to India’s indigenous telecom ecosystem.

Strengthening the Atmanirbhar Telecom Mission

Commenting on the development, Rajesh Rai, Chairman and Managing Director of ITI Limited, said the new order reinforces the company’s commitment to supporting India’s vision of self-reliance in telecom infrastructure.

He noted that BSNL’s continued trust highlights ITI’s ability to successfully execute large-scale telecom projects using indigenous technologies.

ITI is also executing BharatNet Phase III projects worth around ₹7,000 crore for BSNL across multiple states, further expanding its role in strengthening the country’s digital infrastructure.
