Tips Music Reports 21% Revenue Growth in Q1 FY27, Steps Up Content Investment

Tips Music Limited has begun FY27 on a strong note, reporting healthy revenue growth driven by its expanding music catalogue and strong digital consumption. For the quarter ended June 30, 2026, the company recorded a 21% year-on-year increase in revenue from operations while significantly increasing investments in new content to strengthen its long-term growth pipeline.

Although higher content investments impacted profitability during the quarter, the company continued to deliver healthy earnings while expanding its music library and digital reach.

Q1 FY27 Financial Highlights

Tips Music reported strong revenue growth despite increased investments in content creation.

Particulars Q1 FY27 YoY Growth
Revenue from Operations ₹106.5 crore 21%
Operating EBITDA ₹53.5 crore -5%
Profit After Tax (PAT) ₹43.9 crore -4%
Content Cost ₹44.6 crore 90%

The decline in EBITDA and net profit was primarily due to the company’s aggressive investment in acquiring and producing new music content, which is expected to support future revenue growth.

Aggressive Investment in Content Creation

Content remained the company’s biggest strategic priority during the quarter.

Tips Music increased its content investment by 90% year-on-year, taking total content costs to ₹44.6 crore.

The company released 73 new songs during Q1 FY27, including:

  • 55 film songs
  • 18 non-film songs

Several releases gained strong traction across digital platforms, helping strengthen the company’s growing music catalogue.

Popular releases during the quarter included:

  • Chunnari – Let’s Go
  • Tere Paas Main

The continued investment reflects management’s strategy of building long-term intellectual property (IP) that can generate recurring revenue across streaming and digital platforms.

Digital Presence Continues to Expand

Tips Music continued to strengthen its digital ecosystem during the quarter.

The company’s YouTube subscriber base grew to an impressive 158.3 million subscribers, reinforcing its position as one of India’s leading music content owners on digital platforms.

The performance was supported by strong engagement across both:

  • Digital streaming platforms
  • Non-digital music distribution channels

This diversified revenue mix continues to provide stability while benefiting from the growing popularity of online music consumption.

Management Commentary

Commenting on the quarterly performance, Kumar Taurani, Chairman & Managing Director, said the company significantly increased its investment in content creation during the quarter.

He noted that despite higher investments, business performance remained healthy, with meaningful contributions from both digital and non-digital revenue streams.

Management continues to focus on expanding the music catalogue while strengthening the company’s long-term monetization opportunities.

Board to Consider Share Buyback

In a move that could enhance shareholder value, the Board of Directors has scheduled a meeting on August 5, 2026, to consider a proposal for the buyback of equity shares.

If approved, the buyback would demonstrate management’s confidence in the company’s financial position and future growth prospects while providing additional value to shareholders.

Investors will closely watch the outcome of the board meeting for details regarding the size, pricing, and structure of the proposed buyback.

Outlook

Tips Music remains well positioned to benefit from:

  • Rising digital music consumption
  • Expansion of its music catalogue
  • Growth in streaming platforms
  • Higher YouTube monetization
  • Increasing demand for regional and non-film music
  • Strong intellectual property portfolio

While higher content investments may temporarily moderate margins, they are expected to support sustainable revenue growth over the long term.
