SG Mart Reports Strong Q1 FY27 Performance, Accelerates Transformation into Manufacturing-Led Business

SG Mart Limited (SMART) has announced its financial results for the first quarter of fiscal year 2027, showcasing a second consecutive quarter of sustained revenue and profitability. The company shared key insights from its Q1 FY27 earnings conference call, highlighting a strategic evolution from a trading-centric model to a robust manufacturing platform.

The core of SG Mart Limited’s renewed strategy rests on five key pillars: manufacturing, branding, distribution, a network of service centers, and an online marketplace. This shift aims to create a comprehensive ecosystem for manufacturing and direct sales under its own brand. Demonstrating progress, SG Mart Limited has already launched 10 new products, with 7 more in the pipeline for the upcoming two quarters across diverse categories, including steel profiles, renewable structures, and accessories.

Q1 FY27 Operational Highlights:

The company’s performance across its key business segments for Q1 FY27 underscores its growth trajectory:

  • Service Centers: SG Mart Limited recorded a significant volume of 160,000 tons, maintaining a healthy profitability of approximately INR 2,000 per ton. The company currently operates 7 fully functional service centers and plans to expand this network by launching 5 new centers annually, targeting a total of 25 by 2029.
  • Steel Profiles: The segment witnessed a volume of 18,000 tons in Q1 FY27, translating to an annual run rate of around 75,000 tons. SG Mart Limited boasts an existing capacity of 200,000 tons for various steel products, catering to construction and infrastructure, which will be ramped up progressively.
  • Renewable Structures: With a Q1 FY27 volume of 11,000 tons, this segment projects an annual run rate of approximately 50,000 tons. The company already has a substantial capacity of around 200,000 tons for renewable structures.

Management expressed confidence in the new business model, citing its proven ability to generate expected returns and profitability. SG Mart Limited is well-positioned for future growth, leveraging its integrated manufacturing and distribution capabilities.
