Rubicon Research Enters US Manufacturing with Acquisition of New Jersey Pharmaceutical Facility

Rubicon Research Limited has taken a significant step in its global expansion strategy by acquiring its first manufacturing facility in the United States. The acquisition, completed through its wholly owned subsidiary Adage Holdings Inc., involves a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility located in East Brunswick, New Jersey, purchased from Infotech Pharma Solutions LLC.

The transaction, valued at an enterprise value of US$2.9 million, marks an important milestone in Rubicon Research’s efforts to strengthen its manufacturing capabilities, improve supply chain resilience, and expand its presence in the world’s largest pharmaceutical market.

First Manufacturing Base in the United States

The newly acquired facility will become Rubicon Research’s first manufacturing site in the US, complementing its growing portfolio of specialty pharmaceutical products.

The acquisition enables the company to manufacture products closer to its customers while enhancing operational flexibility and reducing supply chain risks.

Key Acquisition Highlights

  • Acquirer: Adage Holdings Inc. (Wholly owned subsidiary of Rubicon Research Limited)
  • Seller: Infotech Pharma Solutions LLC
  • Location: East Brunswick, New Jersey, USA
  • Enterprise Value: US$2.9 million
  • Strategic Significance: Rubicon Research’s first US manufacturing facility

The company expects the acquisition to strengthen its long-term manufacturing and commercial capabilities in North America.

Established Facility with Regulatory Track Record

The manufacturing facility has more than a decade of operational experience producing:

  • Oral solid dosage formulations
  • Oral liquid formulations

The site has also successfully undergone three US FDA inspections, demonstrating an established regulatory compliance record.

During a recent unannounced US FDA inspection in May 2026, the facility received a Form 483 containing six observations that were primarily procedural in nature and not related to data integrity. According to the company, the seller has already completed the necessary corrective actions, and the inspection process is expected to conclude successfully.

Strategic Benefits for Rubicon Research

Commenting on the acquisition, Parag Sancheti, Chief Executive Officer of Rubicon Research, said that establishing manufacturing operations in the United States significantly strengthens the company’s branded and specialty pharmaceutical business.

The acquisition is expected to provide several strategic advantages, including:

  • Local manufacturing capabilities in the US
  • Faster response to customer demand
  • Improved supply chain resilience
  • Enhanced operational flexibility
  • Better support for specialty pharmaceutical products

Synergies with Existing Distribution Network

A notable advantage of the acquisition is the facility’s proximity to Rubicon’s existing US distribution operations.

The manufacturing plant shares a campus with the company’s US distribution centre operated by its subsidiary AIM Rx, creating opportunities for:

  • Integrated logistics
  • Lower transportation costs
  • Faster product distribution
  • Improved inventory management
  • Operational efficiencies

Focus on High-Value Pharmaceutical Products

Rubicon Research plans to utilize the facility primarily for manufacturing:

  • Specialty pharmaceutical products
  • High-value formulations
  • Products supplied to US government agencies

Commercial manufacturing is expected to begin during calendar year 2027, following the implementation of Rubicon’s quality management systems and operational integration.

Future Expansion Plans

The company also plans to make significant capital investments over the next three years to expand the facility’s manufacturing capabilities and support future growth.

The investment is expected to increase production capacity while enabling Rubicon Research to serve a broader customer base in North America.
