Prime Securities Reports Q1 FY27 PAT of Rs 2.36 Crore; Wealth AUM Crosses Rs 5,000 Crore

Prime Securities Limited has reported its unaudited consolidated financial results for the first quarter ended June 30, 2026 (Q1 FY27), marking a return to profitability on a sequential basis. The recovery was driven by a resilient performance in its investment banking business, while the company continued to invest aggressively in expanding its wealth management platform, Prime Origen Wealth.

Q1 FY27 Financial Performance

Prime Securities reported consolidated revenue of ₹33.68 crore (₹3,368 lakh) during Q1 FY27, compared with ₹30.78 crore in Q4 FY26 and ₹46.91 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.

The company’s Profit Before Tax (PBT), before exceptional items, improved sharply to ₹6.39 crore (₹639 lakh), recovering from a loss of ₹5.94 crore recorded in the previous quarter. However, it remained below the ₹16.46 crore reported in Q1 FY26.

The company also returned to profitability at the bottom line, posting a Profit After Tax (PAT) of ₹2.36 crore (₹236 lakh), compared with a net loss of ₹12.92 crore in Q4 FY26. In the year-ago quarter, PAT stood at ₹10.88 crore.

Prime Securities maintained a strong financial position, with cash, liquid reserves, and investments totaling approximately ₹270 crore as of June 30, 2026, providing ample liquidity to support future growth initiatives.

Prime Origen Wealth Continues Rapid Expansion

The company’s strategic focus remains on building Prime Origen Wealth, its wealth management platform, with the objective of creating a stable, recurring annuity income stream that complements the cyclical nature of investment banking revenues.

As of June 30, 2026:

  • Assets Under Management and Advice (AUM/AUA) exceeded ₹5,000 crore.
  • The platform has onboarded more than 1,400 clients, including over 750 families.
  • Operations now span 14 locations across India.
  • The wealth management business employs over 105 professionals, representing a significant portion of the group’s total workforce of 147 employees.

Management expects meaningful revenue contributions from these assets to begin reflecting in financial performance from Q2 and Q3 FY27.

Investment Phase Weighs on Wealth Business

Despite strong business growth, Prime Origen Wealth reported a PBT loss of ₹10.82 crore (₹1,082 lakh) during Q1 FY27. The loss primarily resulted from significant upfront investments in talent, branch expansion, and infrastructure, along with a regulatory change that deferred the recognition of trail commission income by one year.

The company indicated that these are largely timing-related impacts rather than structural issues with the business model.

Management Outlook

Prime Securities expects the wealth management vertical to incur approximately ₹60 crore of fixed operating expenses during FY27 as it continues to scale operations.

Management remains optimistic that Prime Origen Wealth will achieve breakeven within the next five to six quarters, supported by growing client assets and the gradual recognition of deferred recurring revenues.

Meanwhile, the investment banking business continues to witness healthy momentum, backed by an expanding pipeline of higher-value mandates and an increase in experienced professionals.
