Dalmia Bharat Q1 FY27 Results: Revenue Rises 7%, Cement Sales Volume Up 9%; PAT Impacted by One-Time Acquisition Costs
Dalmia Bharat Limited announced its consolidated financial results for the quarter ended June 30, 2026 (Q1 FY27), reporting healthy revenue and volume growth despite a challenging operating environment and temporary disruptions related to state elections. The company continued its strategic expansion with the acquisition of new cement assets, strengthening its position as a pan-India cement manufacturer.
While revenue and sales volumes registered healthy growth, profitability was impacted by one-time acquisition-related expenses and lower operating margins.
Dalmia Bharat Q1 FY27 Financial Highlights
The company reported the following consolidated performance during the quarter:
- Revenue from Operations: ₹3,890 crore, up 7.0% year-on-year from ₹3,636 crore.
- Cement Sales Volume: 7.6 million tonnes (MT), registering 9.0% YoY growth compared with 7.0 million tonnes in Q1 FY26.
- EBITDA: ₹805 crore versus ₹883 crore in the corresponding quarter last year, a decline of 8.8%.
- EBITDA per Tonne: ₹1,055.
- Profit After Tax (PAT): ₹192 crore compared with ₹395 crore in Q1 FY26, down 51.4% year-on-year.
- Exceptional Items: The quarter included a one-time charge of ₹182 crore, primarily related to the acquisition of cement assets in Central India.
Strategic Acquisition Expands Cement Capacity
During Q1 FY27, Dalmia Bharat successfully completed the acquisition of Prakash Associates Limited’s cement business at an enterprise value of ₹2,850 crore.
The acquisition added:
- 5.2 million tonnes per annum (MnTPA) of cement capacity.
- 3.3 MnTPA of clinker capacity.
- Manufacturing assets located across Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.
Following the acquisition, Dalmia Bharat’s total installed cement manufacturing capacity increased to 54.7 MnTPA, significantly strengthening its footprint in Central India and supporting its long-term growth strategy.
Capacity Expansion and Renewable Energy Initiatives
The company also made progress on several expansion projects during the quarter.
Key developments included:
- Commercial production commenced at the 2.5 MnTPA grinding unit in June 2026.
- Trial runs began at the 3.3 MnTPA clinker unit in July 2026.
- Dalmia Bharat agreed to acquire up to a 41% stake in Oyster Green Hybrid Five Private Limited for approximately ₹17 crore to source hybrid renewable power for its Adapa cement plant, supporting its sustainability and clean energy objectives.
Management Commentary
Commenting on the quarter’s performance, Puneet Dalmia, Managing Director & CEO, said the acquisition of the Central India cement assets represents a significant milestone in the company’s journey toward becoming a truly pan-India cement manufacturer.
Charuminder Tugnait, Chief Financial Officer, stated that disciplined capital allocation and prudent financial management enabled the company to maintain a healthy Net Debt-to-EBITDA ratio of 1.47x, despite the significant acquisition investment made during the quarter.
