Punjab National Bank Global Business Hits ₹29.98 Lakh Cr in Q1 FY27

PNB Reports 10.2% Growth in Global Business in Q1 FY27 Earnings Call

Punjab National Bank has released the transcript of its Q1 FY27 earnings conference call to stock exchanges, laying out its operational and financial performance for the quarter ended June 30, 2026. The public sector lender pointed to steady growth momentum, supported by balanced expansion across its core business segments, better operational efficiency, and improving asset quality.

Key Highlights from the Quarter

The bank’s gross global business rose 10.2% year-on-year to ₹29.98 lakh crore. Gross advances climbed 12.7% YoY to ₹12.73 lakh crore, and when adjusted for a ₹22,411 crore drawdown in low-yielding Inter-Bank Participation Certificate (IPC) exposure, core advances growth was even stronger at 15.4% YoY.

Retail, agriculture, and MSME (RAM) segments led the charge in driving this quarter’s growth.

Expansion Plans and Strategic Focus

Management told investors that PNB is firmly on track to hit its FY27 guidance. As part of its growth strategy, the bank plans to add 250 new branches this financial year, with a concentrated push into southern and western India to grow its customer base.

The bank also underlined its continued focus on technology, pledging ongoing investment in automation, analytics, and digital-first channels to boost productivity and customer experience, all while keeping a disciplined approach to risk underwriting.
