Akums Drugs to Acquire Oriflamme India’s Manufacturing Business for ₹56 Crore

Akums Drugs and Pharmaceuticals Limited has announced a strategic acquisition to strengthen its presence in the cosmetics, skincare, and personal care manufacturing segment. The company’s wholly owned material subsidiary, Pure and Cure Healthcare Private Limited, has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire the manufacturing business of Oriflamme India Private Limited for a total consideration of ₹56 crore.

The acquisition is expected to enhance Akums’ contract development and manufacturing (CDMO) capabilities while expanding its footprint in the fast-growing beauty and wellness market.

Key Highlights of the Acquisition

  • Acquiring Entity: Pure and Cure Healthcare Private Limited (Wholly Owned Material Subsidiary of Akums Drugs and Pharmaceuticals Limited)
  • Target Business: Manufacturing business of Oriflamme India Private Limited
  • Transaction Value: ₹56 crore
  • Payment Method: Cash consideration funded through internal accruals
  • Expected Completion: On or before August 31, 2026

Manufacturing Facilities Included

As part of the transaction, Akums will acquire:

  • Two manufacturing facilities located in Roorkee, Uttarakhand, and Noida, Uttar Pradesh
  • A leased warehouse facility in Noida, Uttar Pradesh

These facilities manufacture a wide range of colour cosmetics, skincare products, and wellness formulations, providing Akums with immediate manufacturing capacity in high-growth consumer categories.

Strengthening CDMO Capabilities

The acquisition aligns with Akums’ strategy of expanding beyond traditional pharmaceutical manufacturing into the rapidly growing cosmetics and personal care sector.

The acquired assets are expected to:

  • Expand the company’s CDMO capabilities
  • Increase manufacturing capacity for beauty and wellness products
  • Enable faster onboarding of domestic and international brand partners
  • Diversify the company’s product portfolio and revenue streams

The transaction also provides Akums with an established manufacturing infrastructure, reducing the time and investment required to build new facilities.

Funded Through Internal Accruals

Akums will finance the ₹56 crore acquisition entirely through internal accruals, reflecting the company’s strong financial position and prudent capital allocation strategy.

Using internal resources eliminates the need for external borrowing while allowing the company to pursue strategic expansion opportunities.

Strategic Growth Opportunity

The acquisition marks an important step in Akums’ long-term growth strategy by increasing its exposure to high-margin beauty, skincare, and wellness products. As consumer demand for cosmetics and personal care products continues to rise in India and international markets, the expanded manufacturing capabilities are expected to support future business growth and strengthen the company’s competitive position.
