Granules India Limited (NSE: GRANULES | BSE: 532482) has released the transcript of its earnings conference call for the quarter ended June 30, 2026 (Q1 FY27), reporting its highest-ever first-quarter financial performance. The company recorded robust growth in revenue and profitability, supported by strong demand in regulated markets, an increasing contribution from complex generics, and continued operational excellence.
Q1 FY27 Financial Highlights
Granules India delivered healthy double-digit growth across key financial parameters during the quarter.
- Revenue from Operations: ₹1,477 crore, up 22% year-on-year (YoY).
- EBITDA: ₹339 crore, registering 37% YoY growth.
- Profit After Tax (PAT): ₹180 crore, a 60% YoY increase.
- Gross Margin: Remained strong at approximately 65.6%.
The company attributed the performance to a favorable product mix, improved operational efficiencies, and increasing sales of high-value products in regulated markets.
Complex Generics Drive Growth
Granules India continued to strengthen its portfolio of complex generic formulations, a key strategic focus for the company.
During Q1 FY27, complex generics contributed nearly 50% of total finished dosage sales, compared with 39% in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. The increasing contribution from differentiated products has supported higher margins and strengthened the company’s competitive position in global pharmaceutical markets.
Strong Momentum in the U.S. Market
The company also highlighted significant progress in its U.S. business.
Its U.S. subsidiary, Granules Pharmaceuticals Inc. (GPI), has improved its ranking to become the 27th largest generic pharmaceutical company in the United States, compared with 74th position five years ago.
Granules has also strengthened its presence in the controlled substances market and is now the fourth-largest supplier in the U.S. for this category, supporting the supply of critical therapies, including medications for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
CDMO Business Records Rapid Expansion
Granules India’s Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) business continued to gain momentum during the quarter.
The company’s expanded peptide CDMO platform recorded more than 100% year-on-year growth, reflecting increasing customer demand for specialized pharmaceutical development and manufacturing services.
Management Commentary
Commenting on the quarterly performance, Dr. Krishna Prasad Chigurupati, Chairman and Managing Director of Granules India Limited, said the company is steadily transforming into an innovation-driven pharmaceutical organization with a growing portfolio of differentiated products.
