Fischer Medical Ventures’ Associate Receives CDSCO Approval to Market Portable Wound Care System in India

Fischer Medical Ventures Limited has announced that its associate company, Nanomerics Technologies Ltd., Israel, has received approval from India’s Central Licensing Authority (CDSCO) to import and distribute its Spincare Portable Wound Care System in India.

The approval has been granted under Form MD-27 of the Medical Devices Rules, 2017 (Permission No. IMP/MD/2026/000455), making Spincare the first portable electrospun wound care technology to receive regulatory clearance in India.

Key Features of the Spincare System

The Spincare Portable Wound Care System is a Class C medical device designed to provide advanced wound management through nanofiber technology.

Key features include:

  • Portable handheld device for point-of-care treatment.
  • Creates a transparent, breathable nanofiber layer directly over the wound, reducing the need for conventional dressings in many cases.
  • Suitable for treating:
    • Partial and full-thickness wounds
    • Burns
    • Donor-site wounds
    • Surgical incisions
    • Dermatological lesions
    • Chronic ulcers
  • Intended for use by healthcare professionals in clinical settings.
  • Offers a five-year shelf life.

Exclusive Distribution Rights

Fischer Medical Ventures holds the exclusive distribution rights for the Spincare system across India and Southeast Asia.

The approval enables the company to enter the rapidly growing advanced wound care market.

Market Opportunity

  • India’s advanced wound care market is estimated at around US$380 million in 2026 and is projected to reach US$1.8 billion by 2033, according to industry estimates.
  • Southeast Asia’s wound care market is expected to grow to approximately US$354 million by 2030, driven by increasing healthcare expenditure and demand for advanced medical technologies.

U.S. FDA Approval Process Underway

Nanomerics Technologies has also submitted an application to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for regulatory clearance of the Spincare system.

The company said the application is currently under review, and approval would support the product’s commercialization in the U.S. and other international markets.
