Vikran Engineering Secures ₹120.69 Crore POWERGRID Order for GIS Substation Projects
Vikran Engineering Limited has secured a ₹120.69 crore domestic contract from Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) for the supply and execution of high-voltage Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) infrastructure. The order further strengthens the company’s presence in India’s power transmission sector and enhances its order book with another major public sector project.

The contract involves two integrated packages for strengthening power transmission infrastructure by augmenting transformation capacity at multiple GIS substations.
Order highlights include:
- Customer: Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID).
- Order Value: ₹120.69 crore (inclusive of applicable GST and taxes).
- Execution Period: 23 months.
Scope of Work
Under the contract, Vikran Engineering will undertake end-to-end execution of the project, including:
- Design and engineering.
- Manufacturing and testing of equipment.
- Supply of Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS).
- Erection and commissioning of the project.
- Construction of 400/220 kV GIS bays.
- Associated civil and electrical works.
Project Locations
The order covers infrastructure development at three key POWERGRID substations:
- 400/220 kV Maharaja GIS Substation, Dadra & Nagar Haveli.
- 765/400/220 kV Vadodara GIS Substation, Gujarat.
- 400/220 kV Rajgarh Substation, Madhya Pradesh.
These projects are aimed at expanding transformation capacity and improving the reliability of India’s transmission network.
