Pace Digitek Expands BESS Manufacturing Capacity to 5 GWh with New Production Line
Pace Digitek Limited has announced a major milestone in its energy storage business with the commissioning of an additional 2.5 GWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) manufacturing line. The expansion doubles the group’s installed BESS manufacturing capacity from 2.5 GWh to 5 GWh, strengthening its ability to meet growing demand for battery energy storage solutions in India.
The company disclosed the development through a regulatory filing with the stock exchanges on August 4, 2026.
Manufacturing Capacity Doubles to 5 GWh
The newly commissioned manufacturing line has been established by Lineage Power Private Limited (LPPL), Pace Digitek’s material subsidiary.
With this expansion, the company significantly enhances its manufacturing capabilities, enabling it to execute a growing order book while improving production planning, manufacturing flexibility, and delivery timelines for both utility-scale and commercial & industrial (C&I) battery energy storage projects.
The company said the capacity expansion comes at a time when India’s energy storage market is witnessing rapid growth, driven by renewable energy integration and increasing demand for grid stability.
Strong Execution Track Record
Pace Digitek highlighted that during the past year it has manufactured more than 300 utility-scale Battery Energy Storage System containers, representing approximately 1.5 GWh of battery storage capacity.
The successful execution of these projects has laid the foundation for scaling operations to the new 5 GWh manufacturing capacity, allowing the company to support larger projects and meet increasing customer requirements.
Growing Demand for Battery Energy Storage
India’s Battery Energy Storage System market continues to expand as renewable energy capacity increases across the country.
Battery storage plays an increasingly important role in:
- Supporting renewable energy integration
- Improving grid balancing and stability
- Meeting peak power demand
- Serving utility-scale energy storage projects
- Powering commercial and industrial (C&I) applications
As the market grows, companies with strong manufacturing capabilities and integrated supply chains are expected to benefit from rising demand.
Management Commentary
Commenting on the expansion, Venugopal Rao Maddisetty, Chairman and Managing Director of Pace Digitek Limited, said the commissioning of the additional manufacturing line represents another important step in building the company’s integrated Battery Energy Storage System business.
He noted that over the past year, the company has strengthened its manufacturing operations, increased localisation, and improved execution across the entire value chain. With the installed manufacturing capacity now reaching 5 GWh, Pace Digitek expects to better support its expanding order book while improving operational efficiency and reducing production costs.
The company also plans to continue investing in manufacturing infrastructure, technology, and product development to deliver reliable energy storage solutions for customers.
