The company also reported a Return on Capital Employed (ROCE) of 35.6%, reflecting improved capital efficiency.
Productivity Initiatives Improve Margins
Management said several operational initiatives implemented over recent quarters have started delivering meaningful results.
These include:
- Increased use of engineering automation
- Standardized engineering workflows
- Performance-linked incentive systems
- Weekly operational reviews
- Better utilization of engineering resources
According to the company, these initiatives have increased revenue per employee and improved per-engineer productivity, supporting higher margins.
Beryl Acquisition Strengthens U.S. Business
The integration of Beryl Project Engineering LLC continues to be a major growth driver.
Besides adding revenue, Beryl has expanded Mold-Tek’s service portfolio into:
- Residential Engineering
- Permit Engineering
- Plan Review
- Building Inspection Services
The acquisition allows the company to provide engineering services throughout the construction lifecycle while strengthening its presence in the U.S. market.
Management also disclosed that Beryl is currently in advanced discussions for several municipal engineering contracts expected to contribute approximately US$2 million in annual revenue over the coming quarters.
Additionally, Beryl has secured a US$1 million Master Purchase Order from Hillsborough County, with revenue contributions expected from Q2 onward.
The company has also expanded operations into Forsyth County, Georgia, extending its footprint beyond Florida.
Civil & Structural Engineering Business Shows Strong Momentum
Mold-Tek’s Civil & Structural Engineering division continues to benefit from strong demand across the U.S. construction market.
Work-on-Hand increased from US$3.5 million to US$4.5 million, providing healthy revenue visibility.
Growth opportunities remain strong in:
- Structural Design
- Building Information Modelling (BIM)
- Connection Design
- Permit Engineering
- Pre-Engineered Metal Buildings (PEMB)
- Commercial Buildings
- Industrial Infrastructure
- Utility Projects
- Data Centres
Management expects this division to maintain its growth trajectory throughout FY27.
Mechanical Engineering Business Continues Diversification
The Mechanical Engineering Services division is also making progress through diversification.
While maintaining its presence in the Body-in-White (BIW) segment, the company is expanding into:
- Transmission & Distribution
- Plant Engineering
- Utility Infrastructure
- Special Purpose Machinery (SPM)
- Data Centre Engineering
Management believes these newer verticals will help reduce dependence on traditional automotive engineering while improving profitability over time.
Strong Industry Tailwinds Support Growth
According to the company, the U.S. engineering services market is expected to grow from US$409.6 billion in 2026 to US$533.3 billion by 2031, driven by infrastructure investments and digital transformation.
Major growth drivers include:
- Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA)
- Semiconductor manufacturing facilities
- Battery gigafactories
- Renewable energy projects
- Grid modernization
- AI-driven data centres
- Utility infrastructure
- Growing adoption of BIM and digital engineering
The shortage of skilled engineering professionals in the U.S. is also encouraging greater outsourcing of engineering services, creating long-term opportunities for companies like Mold-Tek.
