India’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer, Hero MotoCorp, has kicked off FY27 with an impressive quarter, reporting strong revenue growth, expanding market share across key segments, and making significant progress in its electric vehicle (EV) business.
The company’s Q1 FY27 investor presentation highlights how higher volumes, product innovation, premiumization, and investments in future technologies are driving growth despite continued commodity cost pressures.

Hero MotoCorp delivered one of its strongest quarterly performances in recent years.

Electric Vehicle Business Records Rapid Growth
The biggest highlight of the quarter was Hero’s electric mobility brand VIDA.
VIDA retail sales increased sharply, while market share expanded from 6.9% to 10.9% compared with the same quarter last year.
The success was largely driven by the launch of the VIDA VX2, along with Hero’s differentiated EV ecosystem that includes:
- Battery-as-a-Service model
- Removable battery technology
- Home charging through a standard 5A plug
- India’s largest fast-charging network with approximately 5,900 charging points
Hero also expanded VIDA’s dealership network to 739 dealerships across 456 cities, while announcing plans to double EV manufacturing capacity by December 2026.
Expanding the EV Portfolio
To address different customer segments, Hero introduced multiple variants under the VIDA VX2 lineup.
The premium version offers an IDC-certified range of 187 km, while another variant provides 128 km with a fixed battery.
The company also highlighted that:
- Around 60% of its EV portfolio qualified for Production Linked Incentive (PLI) benefits during Q1 FY27.
- It expects 100% PLI eligibility by December 2026.
Hero is also exploring new mobility segments with the launch of the DIRT.E K3 electric off-road motorcycle for younger riders and has taken the VIDA brand international with its launch in Nepal, marking its global debut.
