GK Energy Q1 FY27 Results: Revenue Jumps 71%, Solar Installations More Than Double

India’s renewable energy sector continues to gather momentum, and GK Energy Limited has delivered another strong quarter. The company reported record quarterly revenue, robust profit growth, and rapid expansion in solar installations, highlighting growing demand for decentralized renewable energy solutions across India.

GK Energy Reports Record Q1 FY27 Performance

GK Energy posted its highest-ever quarterly revenue of ₹505.2 crore, registering an impressive 71.1% year-on-year growth compared to Q1 FY26.

The company also delivered:

Particulars Q1 FY27 YoY Growth
Revenue ₹505.2 crore 71.1%
EBITDA ₹86.1 crore 47.7%
EBITDA Margin 17.05%
Profit After Tax (PAT) ₹59.7 crore 61.6%
PAT Margin 11.81%
Solar Systems Installed 24,118 122.8%
Renewable Capacity Installed 109 MW
Order Book ₹541 crore

The company’s strong execution capabilities enabled it to more than double the number of solar systems installed during the quarter while maintaining healthy profitability.

Strong Growth Driven by Renewable Energy Demand

The quarter witnessed rapid execution across multiple business segments, including:

  • Solar agricultural pumping systems
  • Residential rooftop solar installations
  • Commercial rooftop projects
  • Ground-mounted solar projects

Management attributed the growth to increasing adoption of decentralized renewable energy, expansion under the PM Surya Ghar Yojana, and continued execution of government-backed solar programs.

Asset-Light Business Model Gives Competitive Edge

Unlike traditional solar equipment manufacturers, GK Energy operates through a low-capex OEM/ODM model.

Instead of investing heavily in manufacturing plants, the company partners with multiple OEM and ODM manufacturers while focusing on:

  • Technology integration
  • Supply chain management
  • Project execution
  • Quality control
  • Rural market expansion

This strategy allows the company to scale rapidly while keeping capital requirements relatively low, improving return on capital and operational flexibility.

Deep Rural Presence Across India

Over the past 18 years, GK Energy has built one of India’s largest decentralized renewable energy execution networks.

The company has now achieved:

  • 164,500+ renewable energy systems installed
  • Presence in 7,500+ villages
  • 726 MW cumulative installed renewable capacity
  • More than 1,500 employees
  • Operations spanning multiple Indian states

Its decentralized logistics network, supported by over 40 owned vehicles and regional warehouses, enables faster deployment even in remote rural areas.

Balance Sheet Strengthens After IPO

One of the biggest positives from the presentation is the company’s significantly stronger financial position following its IPO.

Key highlights include:

  • Surplus cash position of ₹240.6 crore
  • Cash and bank balances exceeding ₹443 crore
  • Lower borrowings
  • Net debt transformed into a net cash surplus

The stronger balance sheet provides additional financial flexibility to support future growth initiatives.

Massive Market Opportunity Ahead

GK Energy believes India’s decentralized renewable energy market still has enormous growth potential.

The company sees strong opportunities across:

Solar Agricultural Pumps

India has nearly 78 million farmers without pumping solutions, creating a substantial long-term addressable market for solar-powered irrigation systems.

Government schemes such as PM-KUSUM continue to drive adoption while helping reduce diesel usage and carbon emissions.

Rooftop Solar

Residential rooftop installations are accelerating under the PM Surya Ghar Yojana.

According to the presentation:

  • More than 42 lakh rooftop installations
  • Over 15 GW installed capacity
  • More than ₹28,500 crore subsidies released

These government initiatives are expected to remain major growth drivers over the coming years.

Long-Term Vision for 2030

GK Energy has outlined ambitious long-term goals.

Its Vision 2030 includes:

  • Becoming India’s most trusted renewable energy brand
  • Building India’s largest decentralized renewable energy execution platform
  • Achieving 1 million installed systems
  • Building a US$1 billion renewable energy business
  • Expanding into Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), hybrid energy solutions, and utility-scale EPC projects

Management Commentary

Management stated that the company remains focused on expanding its decentralized renewable energy platform while leveraging its asset-light business model and strong execution capabilities.

With an expanding order pipeline, deeper rural penetration, and continued government support for renewable energy adoption, GK Energy expects to continue creating long-term value for stakeholders.
