Saksoft Q1 FY27 Results: Revenue Remains Stable as AI Investments and Growth Strategy Take Centre Stage

Saksoft Limited has released its Q1 FY27 investor presentation, highlighting a quarter of broadly stable revenue, resilient operating margins and continued investments in artificial intelligence, sales capabilities and digital transformation.

The company reported consolidated operating income of ₹248.62 crore for the quarter ended June 2026. While revenue was marginally lower both sequentially and year-on-year, operating EBITDA remained strong at ₹45.40 crore, translating into an 18.26% EBITDA margin.

However, profit after tax declined compared with both Q4 FY26 and Q1 FY26, reflecting higher tax expenses and lower other income during the quarter.

The company said demand softness that emerged around the third quarter of FY26 continued into Q1 FY27, particularly among some of its larger customers. At the same time, management believes its diversified growth strategy, AI investments and strong customer relationships can help improve the growth trajectory over the longer term.

Q1 FY27 Financial Highlights

Saksoft reported consolidated operating income of ₹2,486.19 million (₹248.62 crore) in Q1 FY27.

Particulars Q1 FY27 Q4 FY26 QoQ Q1 FY26 YoY
Operating Income ₹2,486.19 Mn ₹2,488.45 Mn -0.1% ₹2,490.75 Mn -0.2%
Operating EBITDA ₹453.96 Mn ₹452.55 Mn +0.3% ₹458.30 Mn -0.9%
EBITDA Margin 18.26% 18.19% +7 bps 18.40% -14 bps
PBT ₹425.76 Mn ₹473.16 Mn -10.0% ₹430.35 Mn -1.1%
PAT ₹292.92 Mn ₹359.31 Mn -18.5% ₹323.48 Mn -9.4%
PAT Margin 11.78% 14.44% -266 bps 12.99% -121 bps
Basic EPS ₹2.28 ₹2.81 -18.9% ₹2.54 -10.2%

The company’s operating income was almost unchanged from the previous quarter and declined just 0.2% year-on-year. This indicates that the near-term challenge is more about growth momentum than a sharp deterioration in the underlying business.

Operating EBITDA was comparatively resilient, rising 0.3% sequentially to ₹45.40 crore. The EBITDA margin stood at 18.26%, broadly maintaining the company’s strong profitability profile.

PAT, however, fell to ₹29.29 crore from ₹35.93 crore in Q4 FY26 and ₹32.35 crore in Q1 FY26.

The presentation shows that the decline in PAT was influenced by lower other income and higher tax expenses. Finance costs, meanwhile, declined substantially to ₹12.63 million from ₹18.58 million in Q4 FY26 and ₹27.76 million in Q1 FY26.

Demand Softness Continues, But Management Remains Confident

Management acknowledged that Q1 FY27 continued to reflect the demand softness that started around Q3 of the previous financial year.

According to Chairman and Managing Director Aditya Krishna, some of the company’s top clients continue to face near-term pressures.

However, Saksoft believes its diversified business strategy is helping the company remain resilient.

The company is focusing on strengthening customer relationships, expanding its capabilities, and investing in areas that can support future growth.

Management’s broader objective is to improve the company’s growth trajectory while maintaining profitable growth over the long term.

AI Emerging as a Key Growth Driver

One of the major strategic themes in Saksoft’s Q1 FY27 presentation is Artificial Intelligence.

The company is leveraging strategic AI investments and AI accelerators to deepen customer engagement, increase wallet share, and create additional growth opportunities.

Rather than treating AI simply as a standalone service, Saksoft is looking to use AI capabilities across its existing digital transformation relationships.

This approach could potentially allow the company to expand its presence within existing customers while also strengthening its position in new digital transformation opportunities.

The company is also strengthening its sales and delivery capabilities through strategic leadership appointments, including a Chief Growth Officer for Europe and a Business Unit Head for Emerging Verticals.

Emerging Verticals Continue to Lead Revenue Mix

Saksoft serves customers across several industry segments, with Emerging Verticals remaining its largest revenue contributor.

The Q1 FY27 revenue mix was:

  • Emerging Verticals – 45%
  • BFS – 30%
  • Logistics – 16%
  • Commerce – 9%

The diversified vertical structure gives Saksoft exposure to multiple end markets rather than relying entirely on a single industry.

The company has identified digital engineering, quality assurance and testing, data analytics, cloud and infrastructure, and cybersecurity among its key technology capabilities.

North America and Europe Remain Important Markets

Geographically, the United States remained Saksoft’s largest market in Q1 FY27.

The revenue distribution was:

  • USA – 52%
  • Europe – 27%
  • APAC & Others – 21%

The company’s international footprint remains an important part of its business model.

Saksoft has also been building local talent capabilities in Europe. The company said European businesses are increasingly using smaller nearshore teams alongside offshore operations, helping it address time-zone requirements and improve service delivery for European customers.

Offshore Delivery Continues to Support the Business Model

Saksoft continues to maintain a combination of onsite and offshore delivery.

In Q1 FY27, the delivery mix stood at:

  • Offshore – 57%
  • Onsite – 43%

The offshore contribution has gradually increased over the longer term, reaching 57% in Q1 FY27 compared with 55% in FY26.

A higher offshore mix can support scalability and delivery efficiency while allowing the company to maintain onsite and nearshore capabilities where customer requirements demand closer engagement.

Customer Base Shows Continued Diversification

Saksoft had 16 clients generating more than $1 million in annualized revenue as of June 30, 2026.

At the same time, the company continues to monitor customer concentration.

The presentation indicates that the top 10 clients accounted for approximately 56% of revenue, while the top 20 clients contributed around 69%.

The company is therefore continuing to focus on expanding its customer base and increasing wallet share through cross-selling and upselling.

Employee Base and Utilization

Saksoft had more than 2,450 employees and a technical support utilization rate of approximately 83% in Q1 FY27.

The company has maintained relatively high utilization levels while continuing to invest in its workforce and delivery capabilities.

Employee capability is particularly important for Saksoft as it expands into AI, cloud, data analytics, cybersecurity and other digital transformation areas.

Long-Term Financial Track Record Remains Strong

While Q1 FY27 was a relatively soft quarter from a revenue-growth perspective, Saksoft’s longer-term financial performance remains noteworthy.

The company reported:

  • FY24 revenue: ₹761.6 crore
  • FY25 revenue: ₹883.0 crore
  • FY26 revenue: ₹1,007.2 crore

Operating EBITDA increased from ₹136.7 crore in FY24 to ₹187.1 crore in FY26.

PAT also increased from ₹96.2 crore in FY24 to ₹133.3 crore in FY26.

The company’s operating EBITDA margin improved to 18.57% in FY26, compared with 17.95% in FY24. PAT margin stood at 13.23% in FY26.

This longer-term performance provides some context for the weaker growth seen in Q1 FY27.

Strong Return Ratios

Saksoft has maintained healthy return ratios.

The presentation shows FY26 ROE at 17.1% and ROCE at 23.9%.

The company has also kept its debt-to-equity ratio low. The reported debt/equity ratio was 0.04x in FY26, compared with 0.06x in FY25.

This relatively conservative balance sheet provides financial flexibility as Saksoft continues to invest in technology, talent, and growth initiatives.

Vision 2030: Targeting $500 Million Revenue

One of the most important long-term targets highlighted in the presentation is Vision 2030, under which Saksoft aims to reach $500 million in revenue.

The strategy is built around several key pillars:

  • Digital transformation
  • AI investments and accelerators
  • Industry-specific solutions
  • Cross-selling and upselling
  • Expansion in international markets
  • Stronger sales leadership
  • Offshore and nearshore delivery capabilities
  • Focus on selected industry verticals

The company believes its experience across multiple industries and its domain-specific technology capabilities can help it capture a larger share of digital transformation spending.

What Makes Saksoft’s Business Model Different?

Saksoft identifies several elements of its business proposition, including strong domain understanding, technology services capabilities, specialists from group companies, offshore delivery infrastructure and referenceable customer relationships.

Its service portfolio includes custom-developed solutions, legacy modernization, quality assurance and testing, data analytics, cloud infrastructure and cybersecurity.

The company is also targeting customers in the $100 million to $3 billion revenue range. Management believes this segment offers an attractive balance: these customers are large enough to have meaningful technology budgets but are not so large that Saksoft risks becoming an insignificant vendor.

Cross-Selling Could Become an Important Growth Lever

Saksoft’s growth strategy is not dependent solely on acquiring new customers.

The company is increasingly looking at cross-selling and upselling across its existing client relationships.

For example, a customer initially using application development services could potentially be offered data analytics, cloud, cybersecurity, testing, or AI-related solutions.

This strategy can increase the company’s wallet share while reducing the cost and time involved in acquiring completely new customers.

Dividend Track Record

The company has also maintained a dividend distribution track record.

According to the presentation, the final dividend as a percentage of face value increased to 55% for FY26, compared with 40% in FY25.

The company also paid an interim dividend equivalent to 35% of face value in FY26.

Key Things Investors Should Watch

For investors tracking Saksoft going forward, several factors will be important.

1. Revenue growth recovery

The immediate priority will be to see when the demand softness affecting some major clients begins to ease.

2. AI monetization

Saksoft’s AI investments need to translate into larger customer engagements, increased wallet share, and incremental revenue.

3. Margin stability

Despite weak revenue growth, Q1 EBITDA margin remained healthy at 18.26%. Maintaining this level while growth recovers will be an important positive indicator.

4. Customer diversification

The company will need to gradually reduce dependence on its largest clients while increasing the number of customers contributing meaningful annual revenue.

5. Europe growth

The new European sales leadership and nearshore delivery capabilities could become important contributors to future growth.

6. Vision 2030 execution

The biggest long-term question is whether Saksoft can accelerate growth sufficiently to move toward its $500 million revenue target by 2030.

Saksoft Q1 FY27: Overall Takeaway

Saksoft’s Q1 FY27 performance can best be described as a stable but challenging quarter.

Revenue remained almost flat, while operating EBITDA was resilient and margins remained above 18%. The pressure was more visible at the PAT level, which declined 9.4% year-on-year and 18.5% sequentially.

At the same time, the company is not standing still.

Saksoft is investing in AI, strengthening its European sales engine, expanding emerging vertical capabilities, and focusing on cross-selling and upselling within its existing customer base.

The company’s long-term financial record remains encouraging, with revenue crossing ₹1,000 crore in FY26 and operating EBITDA reaching ₹187 crore.

The key trigger for the stock going forward will therefore be a recovery in revenue growth combined with sustained margins. If demand improves and the company’s AI and diversification initiatives begin translating into higher wallet share, Saksoft could potentially regain stronger growth momentum.

For now, Q1 FY27 suggests that the company is navigating a softer demand environment while continuing to build capabilities for its longer-term Vision 2030 $500 million revenue ambition.
