Cemindia Projects Investor Presentation: Strong Order Book, Q1 FY27 Growth and Expansion Strategy

Cemindia Projects Limited (formerly ITD Cementation India Limited) has presented a strong growth-oriented outlook in its August 2026 investor presentation, highlighting its transformation into a diversified heavy civil engineering and construction company. With more than nine decades of engineering experience, the company operates across eight key sectors, including maritime structures, urban infrastructure and metro projects, highways and bridges, industrial structures, data centres, water and wastewater, foundation engineering, and hydro, dams and tunnels. Cemindia reported its highest-ever order book of ₹31,307 crore as of June 30, 2026, supported by strong order inflows, a diversified project portfolio and increasing exposure to complex infrastructure projects. The company is targeting further scale by leveraging its engineering capabilities, technology, project execution expertise and synergies from the Adani Group ecosystem.

Q1 FY27 Results

Cemindia reported Q1 FY27 revenue of ₹2,721 crore, representing a 6% year-on-year increase compared with ₹2,576 crore in Q1 FY26. EBITDA increased to ₹285 crore from ₹261 crore, while EBITDA margin improved to approximately 10.5% from 10.1%. Profit after tax stood at ₹141 crore, compared with ₹137 crore in the corresponding quarter. The company continues to demonstrate improving profitability over the longer term, with full-year FY26 revenue reaching ₹10,061 crore, EBITDA at ₹1,199 crore and PAT at ₹598 crore. The investor presentation highlights a significant improvement in return metrics, with FY26 RoCE at approximately 33.5% and RoE at 28.2%. Net debt stood at ₹700 crore as of June 30, 2026, compared with ₹527 crore at the end of FY26.

Record Order Book and Order Inflows

One of the biggest highlights of the presentation is Cemindia’s record ₹31,307 crore order book, which provides strong medium-term revenue visibility. The order book has grown significantly from ₹9,993 crore in FY19 to ₹31,307 crore by Q1 FY27, representing more than a threefold increase over the period. The company secured ₹8,519 crore of orders in Q1 FY27, following order inflows of ₹14,821 crore in FY26. The company has a diversified client base, with approximately 63% of the order book from private clients, 27% from government/PSU clients and 10% from other categories as presented. India accounts for approximately 98% of the order book, while overseas projects contribute around 2%. Importantly, no single sector accounts for more than 25% of the order book, helping reduce concentration risk.

Capex and Investment in Equipment

Cemindia’s investment strategy is focused less on traditional capacity expansion and more on strengthening its specialised engineering and construction equipment capabilities. The company has invested in equipment required for technically complex projects, including Tunnel Boring Machines, Micro Tunnel Boring Machines, trench cutters, hydraulic piling rigs, cranes, jack-up barges, reverse circulation drilling rigs and twin-boom jumbo drills. The company currently highlights 8 TBMs, 5 micro-TBMs, 3 trench cutters, 46 hydraulic piling rigs and 279 cranes, among other specialised equipment, with four additional TBMs recently ordered. These investments are designed to improve execution capabilities, reduce dependence on external resources and enhance Cemindia’s ability to compete for large and technically demanding EPC projects.

Future Growth Plan

Cemindia has outlined a six-point strategic roadmap for its next phase of growth. The company plans to selectively pursue large and complex infrastructure projects while increasing its presence in high-growth and potentially higher-margin areas such as data centres, high-speed rail and large-diameter tunnelling. Technology adoption will be another major focus, with the company planning to leverage Building Information Modelling (BIM), automation, digital tools and data-driven project management to improve productivity and project execution. Cemindia also intends to expand its domestic leadership while increasing its international presence through new geographies and global client relationships. The company plans to leverage the Adani Group ecosystem to access opportunities across ports, airports, renewable energy, roads, data centres, logistics and international infrastructure markets.

Management Strategy and Commentary

The company’s strategy is centred on profitable growth rather than simply maximising order intake. Its bidding framework includes detailed technical, commercial and financial evaluation before submitting tenders, with emphasis on risk-adjusted returns, client credibility and funding visibility. Management also highlighted disciplined contract management, project controls, procurement, working-capital management and cash-flow monitoring as key components of its execution strategy. The company intends to focus on complex projects where its technical capabilities and specialised equipment can provide an advantage and reduce competitive intensity. Cemindia believes its combination of engineering expertise, large equipment fleet, experienced workforce and strong parentage can improve its ability to win and execute larger infrastructure contracts.

Adani Group Synergies Could Support the Next Growth Phase

A significant strategic advantage highlighted in the presentation is Cemindia’s association with the Adani Group. The company expects to benefit from access to the group’s extensive infrastructure project pipeline across ports, airports, roads, renewable energy, data centres, logistics and other infrastructure segments. The group ecosystem could also provide benefits through procurement, logistics, financing and project opportunities. Cemindia expects its established execution capabilities combined with the Adani Group’s scale and financial strength to improve its competitiveness for large and complex domestic and international projects. The company also believes stronger parentage can support lower borrowing costs, greater pricing power and improved financial flexibility over time.

Diversification Across Eight Infrastructure Segments

Cemindia has built a diversified project portfolio across eight sectors, which includes maritime structures, urban infrastructure and MRTS, airports, industrial structures and buildings, highways and bridges, foundation and specialist engineering, water and wastewater, data centres, and hydro, dams, tunnels and irrigation. The company has completed or is executing more than 100 projects in maritime-related activities, over 600 km of highways, bridges and flyovers, approximately 40 km of underground metro tunnelling and around 40 km of elevated metro projects. It also has more than 1,000 completed or ongoing foundation and specialist engineering projects. This diversification allows the company to participate in multiple infrastructure investment cycles rather than relying on a single segment.

Data Centres and Other Emerging Opportunities

Data centres have emerged as an important new growth area for Cemindia. The company has already entered the sector and is executing data centre projects, while its roadmap identifies data centres as one of the high-growth sectors for future expansion. Other emerging opportunities include high-speed rail, large-diameter tunnelling, urban infrastructure, metro systems, airports, water and wastewater projects and specialised foundation engineering. The company believes its existing capabilities can be extended into adjacent sectors, creating opportunities to use its engineering expertise across multiple infrastructure applications.

Strong Execution Capabilities and Technology

Cemindia believes its engineering expertise and specialised equipment provide a competitive advantage in complex projects. The company has an experienced management and technical team, with several senior executives possessing more than two or three decades of sector experience. Its equipment fleet includes TBMs, piling rigs, cranes, jack-up barges and specialised drilling equipment. The company also follows ISO-certified quality, environmental and occupational health and safety systems. These capabilities are expected to improve project execution, support prequalification for large projects and increase the probability of winning technically complex contracts.

Credit Profile and Financial Strength

Cemindia’s credit profile has improved alongside its growth in scale and profitability. Both CARE and ICRA have upgraded the company’s credit rating to A+ with a Stable outlook, according to the investor presentation. The rating agencies have highlighted the significant increase in operating scale, diversified order book, execution track record and the potential benefits from the change in ownership. The company has also reduced its net-debt-to-EBITDA ratio substantially over the longer term, although net debt increased to ₹700 crore as of June 30, 2026. The company expects stronger scale, operational efficiency and group synergies to support its financial flexibility.

ESG and Sustainability Initiatives

Cemindia has also highlighted several environmental and sustainability initiatives. The company has deployed renewable energy through solar panels, reused leftover concrete and steel, installed organic waste composters and implemented waste recycling and reuse practices. During 2025-26, the company reported 128 million safe man-hours, 1,776 EHS awareness and training sessions and 323 EHS and integrated management system audits. The company also reported reuse of 56,414 kilolitres of water through wastewater management initiatives. These initiatives form part of its broader focus on environmental management, occupational safety and responsible project execution.

Key Investor Takeaways

The August 2026 presentation highlights several important factors for investors. First, Cemindia has achieved a record ₹31,307 crore order book, providing substantial revenue visibility. Second, the company continues to grow across multiple infrastructure sectors rather than depending on a single business vertical. Third, its strong technical capabilities and specialised equipment provide an entry barrier in complex projects. Fourth, the company is expanding into growth areas such as data centres, high-speed rail and large tunnelling projects. Fifth, its association with the Adani Group could provide access to a broader infrastructure pipeline and operational synergies. At the same time, investors should monitor execution, working capital, debt levels, project margins and the company’s ability to convert its large order book into profitable revenue.

Outlook

Cemindia’s presentation indicates that the company is positioning itself for the next phase of India’s infrastructure investment cycle. The combination of rising public infrastructure spending, urbanisation, metro development, highways, airports, ports, data centres and water infrastructure creates a large addressable market for EPC companies. Cemindia aims to strengthen its position among India’s leading EPC players by selectively bidding for large projects, expanding into complex and specialised segments, adopting new technologies and leveraging the Adani Group ecosystem. With a record order book and expanding capabilities, the company expects its next phase of growth to be driven by scale, diversification, technology, execution discipline and strategic synergies.
