Stock Watch Today: Stocks to Watch on Friday, August 24, 2026
The Indian stock market is set for an eventful trading week beginning Monday, August 24, 2026, with global markets, crude oil, metals, foreign fund flows and major corporate developments likely to influence investor sentiment.
The biggest global triggers will be Nvidia’s earnings on August 26 and the Jackson Hole economic symposium from August 27 to 29, where investors will closely watch Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh for signals on the future direction of US monetary policy.
For Indian investors, stocks linked to defence, railways, telecom infrastructure, automobiles and corporate acquisitions could remain in focus, while IT and technology stocks may react to Nvidia’s results and the broader global technology trade.
Indian Market Outlook for August 24
The Nifty 50 closed the previous session around the 24,250 zone, while the market remained sensitive to global bond yields, foreign flows and geopolitical developments. The coming week could see increased volatility as several major global events cluster.
Investors will also track FII and DII activity, the rupee-dollar movement, crude oil prices and sector rotation.
The domestic market enters the week with several corporate developments to track. NSE’s latest corporate-filings data also shows multiple corporate actions taking effect on August 24, including dividends and a face-value split.
Stock to watch
Diamond Power Infrastructure
Diamond Power Infrastructure Limited is likely to remain in focus after receiving a ₹52.86 crore Letter of Intent from Aurionpro Solutions for the supply of high-tension and low-tension electrical cables for a hyperscale data centre campus in Hyderabad. The order involves approximately 130 km of cables, including copper and aluminium cables, with supplies scheduled to begin immediately in a staggered manner. The development is particularly significant because it utilises Diamond Power’s recently commissioned copper cable manufacturing facility, which has a stated capacity of 1,500 MT per month. The company has also stated that its data-centre-related order book has crossed ₹575 crore, strengthening its exposure to India’s rapidly expanding data-centre infrastructure market.
Highway Infrastructure Limited
Highway Infrastructure Limited could also remain on investors’ radar after entering into a ₹80.17 crore contract with the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) for operating and collecting user fees at the Palayam Fee Plaza on NH-44 in Tamil Nadu. The contract covers the Krishnagiri–Thumbipadi section and includes operation of the fee plaza along with maintenance of adjacent toilet facilities. The contract has an execution period of 90 days and was awarded through an e-tender process. The order strengthens Highway Infrastructure’s presence in highway operation and user-fee collection activities
