GPT Infraprojects Bags ₹85.53 Crore Railway Signalling Order; Order Book Stands at ₹4,473 Crore

GPT Infraprojects Bags ₹85.53 Crore Railway Signalling Order; Order Book Stands at ₹4,473 Crore

GPT Infraprojects Ltd (NSE: GPTINFRA) has secured a fresh ₹85.53 crore railway signalling contract through its wholly owned subsidiary Alcon Builders and Engineers Private Limited.

The order has been awarded by CSTE Con, Eastern Railway, Kolkata and involves signalling and electronic interlocking work linked to the Dedicated Freight Corridor and railway multitracking project in the Asansol Division.

The latest order adds to GPT Infraprojects’ railway-focused infrastructure portfolio at a time when the company has reported an outstanding order book of ₹4,473 crore.

₹85.53 Crore Railway Signalling Order

Alcon Builders and Engineers Private Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of GPT Infraprojects, has received the contract for:

  • Commissioning of automatic signalling work using MSDAC for continuous track circuiting
  • Electronic Interlocking work at New Mugma (EI) and Mugma Yard (PI to EI)
  • Work covers approximately 25 km between Pradhankunta and Mugma
  • Project is part of Dedicated Freight Corridor work
  • Connected with Sonnagar to Andal multitracking work in the Asansol Division of Eastern Railway

The total contract value is ₹85.53 crore including GST, while the value excluding GST is ₹72.48 crore.

12-Month Execution Period

The contract is scheduled to be completed within 12 months from the Letter of Acceptance (LOA).

The project falls under GPT Infraprojects’ core railway infrastructure business, with the company having an established presence in railway-focused civil and infrastructure projects.

Order Book Reaches ₹4,473 Crore

One of the key points for investors is the company’s disclosed order-book position.

Following the latest order win, GPT Infraprojects’ outstanding order book stands at ₹4,473 crore.

The company has also reported ₹300 crore of total order inflow during FY2027 so far.

This provides visibility for future execution and revenue generation, although the order-book value should not be treated as equivalent to immediate revenue or profit.

Railway Infrastructure Remains Core Growth Area

GPT Infraprojects is primarily focused on infrastructure projects, with railways being a major area of operation.

The company undertakes civil and infrastructure projects including large railway bridges, road projects, ROBs and government contracts.

Its second major business is the manufacture and supply of concrete railway sleepers, with manufacturing operations in India and Africa.

Strategic Importance of Signalling Work

The latest contract is not simply a conventional civil construction order. It involves automatic signalling, continuous track circuiting and electronic interlocking, which are important components of railway modernisation and capacity enhancement.

The project is also connected to Dedicated Freight Corridor and multitracking work, giving the order a strategic link to India’s railway freight and network-capacity expansion.

Investor Takeaway

GPT Infraprojects’ latest ₹85.53 crore order strengthens its railway infrastructure order pipeline and adds to an already sizeable ₹4,473 crore order book.

For investors, the important factors to monitor will be the company’s ability to convert this order book into revenue, maintain execution momentum and generate fresh orders during FY2027.

The ₹300 crore order inflow reported for FY2027 so far also indicates continued tender and project activity.

However, the latest contract by itself does not indicate an equivalent increase in revenue or profit. Actual financial impact will depend on project execution, billing, costs and margins.
