Indowind Energy Limited has announced an in-principle agreement to acquire an operational wind power project as part of its long-term growth strategy in the renewable energy sector. The announcement was made on December 23, 2025, highlighting the company’s focus on strengthening its clean energy portfolio.
Project Capacity and Investment Details
The proposed acquisition involves a wind power project with an operational capacity of around 5.1 MW. The total value of the transaction is estimated to be between ₹20 crore and ₹25 crore.
This move comes shortly after Indowind Energy successfully completed a rights issue, through which it raised ₹49.42 crore. The fresh capital provides financial flexibility for the company to pursue strategic expansion opportunities.
Strategic Rationale Behind the Acquisition
By acquiring an already operational asset, Indowind aims to add stable and immediate power generation capacity to its existing renewable energy platform. The acquisition, once completed and approved by relevant statutory and regulatory authorities, will also open up opportunities for future improvements.
