ITC Hotels Expands in Delhi NCR with Premium 5-Star Property at Yashobhoomi

India’s hospitality sector is witnessing a new phase of growth, driven by strategic expansions in high-potential locations—especially those aligned with the rapidly growing MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) segment. A notable example of this trend is ITC Hotels Limited’s latest move to expand its presence in the Delhi NCR region.

Strategic Entry into Yashobhoomi, Dwarka

ITC Hotels has been allotted leasehold land at Yashobhoomi, Dwarka, New Delhi, by the India International Convention and Exhibition Centre Limited (IICC), a Government of India enterprise. Yashobhoomi is being developed as one of India’s largest and most advanced convention and exhibition hubs, positioning it as a key destination for global events.

The allotted site offers a ground coverage of around 3,648 square meters, with a permissible Floor Area Ratio (FAR) of approximately 26,179 square meters, providing ample scope for a large-scale hospitality project.

A Premium 5-Star Hotel with a Strong MICE Focus

On this site, ITC Hotels plans to develop and operate a premium 5-star hotel. The project will feature modern banqueting facilities and signature dining concepts, with the aim of making the property a standout epicurean destination in the capital.

The hotel is strategically designed to complement Yashobhoomi’s role as an international convention and exhibition centre. With large conferences, exhibitions, and marquee events expected to drive footfall, the new hotel is positioned as a vital support pillar for the MICE ecosystem. Industry leadership has already described Yashobhoomi as a potential “gamechanger” for India’s MICE industry.

Long-Term Investment and Transparent Disclosures

The expansion reflects ITC Hotels’ long-term commitment to the region. The company will pay a lease premium of ₹326.50 crore for the project, with a lease tenure of approximately 91 years—highlighting the long-gestation nature of hospitality investments.

In line with regulatory requirements, the development was disclosed under SEBI Regulation 30. ITC Hotels has confirmed that the transaction is not a related party deal and involves no interest from the promoter or promoter group, ensuring full transparency.
