L&T Wins Major Contract to Upgrade Dubai’s Road Infrastructure

Larsen & Toubro’s (L&T) Transportation Infrastructure vertical has secured a “Significant” international contract to upgrade Latifa Bint Hamdan Street in Dubai, UAE, further strengthening the company’s footprint in the Middle East infrastructure market.

As per L&T’s internal classification, a “Significant” contract falls within the value range of ₹1,000 crore to ₹2,500 crore, highlighting the scale and importance of this project.

The contract forms part of Phase 1 of a larger road development initiative undertaken by UAE authorities to enhance connectivity between Emirates Road (E611) and Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road (E311)—two of Dubai’s most critical transport corridors.

Key Project Highlights

  • Capacity Expansion: The existing two-lane dual carriageway will be widened into a four-lane dual carriageway in each direction, significantly increasing traffic capacity.

  • Major Interchange Construction: A structural interchange at E311 will be built to enable smooth and seamless traffic movement across all directions.

  • Improved Connectivity: The corridor will be extended with a dedicated interchange for U-turns, improving access to nearby residential and commercial developments.

The project is expected to be completed within a 36-month timeframe, underscoring L&T’s expertise in executing large, complex EPC infrastructure projects across international geographies.
