Power Mech Projects Lands ₹296 Crore Contract for Mumbai Monorail O&M

In a major move for Mumbai’s urban infrastructure, Power Mech Projects Limited has officially been tasked with keeping the city’s monorail moving. The company announced to the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and BSE Limited on April 10, 2026, that it has secured a substantial domestic contract for the operation and maintenance (O&M) of the Mumbai Monorail.

This deal reinforces Power Mech’s growing footprint in the transportation services sector, transitioning from heavy industrial projects to critical urban transit operations.

The Project at a Glance

The contract, awarded by the Maha Mumbai Metro Operation Corporation Limited (MMMOCL), covers the entire existing monorail corridor. Here is the breakdown of what the deal entails:

  • Scope of Work: Comprehensive Operations and Maintenance (O&M).

  • The Route: The 19.54 km corridor connecting Sant Gadge Maharaj Chowk to Chembur, serving a total of 17 stations.

  • Contract Value: A cool ₹296.44 Crores (excluding GST).

  • Timeline: The agreement is set for a five-year duration.

Why This Matters

The Mumbai Monorail is a vital link in the city’s suburban transit web. By outsourcing the O&M to a specialized player like Power Mech, the MMMOCL aims to ensure streamlined performance and improved reliability for the thousands of daily commuters who rely on this route.

Transparency and Compliance

In the interest of full disclosure, Power Mech’s Company Secretary and Compliance Officer, M. Raghavendra Prasad, confirmed in the regulatory filing that:

  • The contract is a domestic order.

  • There are no related party transactions involved.

  • The company’s promoters or group entities have no prior interest in the awarding entity (MMMOCL).
