Vikran Engineering Powers Up: Bags INR 3518 Crore Solar EPC Deal for 969 MW Project

The sun continues to shine brightly on India’s renewable energy sector, and Vikran Engineering Limited is strategically positioning itself to capture a significant share of this burgeoning market. The company recently announced a substantial new work order, solidifying its commitment to green energy infrastructure and promising a robust future in sustainable development.

Vikran Engineering has secured a major turnkey Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contract. This monumental project underscores the company’s expanding footprint in the solar power landscape.

Key Project Details:

  • Value: INR 3517.98 Crores (approx. USD 422 Million)
  • Project Size: 969 MW AC Solar Power Project
  • Scope: Designing, Engineering, Procurement, Supply, Erection, Testing, and Commissioning on Turnkey EPC Basis (including Solar PV Modules and Inverters)
  • Location: Multiple locations in the State of Maharashtra
  • Client: NOPL Solar Projects Private Limited (a wholly-owned subsidiary of Vikran Engineering)
  • Execution Period: 12 months

This significant announcement comes with an important strategic context. The new order from NOPL replaces an earlier, smaller work order worth INR 2035.26 Crores from Onix Renewable Limited for a 600 MW project. This transition is purely an internal restructuring, following Vikran Engineering’s acquisition of a 100% equity stake in NOPL. The company has explicitly clarified that this change is “not expected to have any material adverse impact” and does not stem from any performance issues, disputes, or defaults.

By consolidating its efforts and expanding its project pipeline under a unified structure, Vikran Engineering aims to streamline project execution, enhancing efficiency and control over a larger, strategically important asset. This move reinforces Vikran’s ambition to be a leading player in India’s solar energy revolution, demonstrating strong operational capabilities and a clear vision for growth in the clean energy space.
