Shailesh Chandra, MD and CEO of Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd., highlighted the “industry beating growth,” attributing it to strong customer interest and the positive reception of recent product launches. The company’s domestic passenger vehicle sales mirrored this upward trend, climbing 45% to 180,166 units.
Perhaps the most striking aspect of the quarterly report is the exceptional growth in electric vehicle (EV) adoption. Tata Motors’ EV volumes more than doubled, recording a phenomenal 112% year-on-year increase with 34,467 units sold. This further solidifies the company’s leadership in India’s rapidly expanding EV segment. June 2026 alone saw the highest-ever monthly EV sales, reaching 14,800 units, nearly tripling last year’s figures.

With a strong order book and exciting product pipeline, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles remains confident in sustaining its growth trajectory through the remainder of the year.
