Bikewo Green Tech Fuels Rural EV Revolution with Yubhas Renewables Solar Mobility Pilot
Bikewo Green Tech Limited has announced a strategic partnership with Yubhas Renewables Private Limited to begin the operational validation of solar-assisted electric three-wheelers in India. The collaboration aims to evaluate the performance of these next-generation electric vehicles under real-world commercial conditions while promoting sustainable mobility in rural and semi-urban regions.
The pilot programme will leverage Bikewo’s operational expertise and rider network to assess the viability of solar-assisted EV technology before its wider commercial rollout.
Pilot Programme to Test Real-World Performance
As part of the collaboration, the companies will evaluate the vehicles across several key operational parameters, including:
- Driving range and battery efficiency
- Payload capacity
- Ride quality
- Thermal performance
- Braking efficiency
- Overall operating cost and reliability
The insights gathered from Bikewo’s last-mile delivery network will help optimize vehicle design, improve performance, and ensure the technology is suitable for the transportation needs of rural and semi-urban India.
Promoting Rural Entrepreneurship
Beyond vehicle testing, the partnership also aims to create livelihood opportunities through clean mobility.
The two companies are exploring a programme to train young individuals in:
- Electric vehicle operations
- Vehicle maintenance
- Business and fleet management
The initiative is designed to help participants become owner-operators of electric vehicles, creating self-employment opportunities while supporting the adoption of environmentally friendly transportation.
Eligible participants may also be able to access financial assistance through the Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana, subject to applicable approvals and eligibility requirements.
