Jio Payments Bank Wins MLFF Tolling Contract: Driving India’s Smart Highway Future

Jio Payments Bank Wins Landmark Contract for Next-Gen Highway Tolling System

Revolutionizing India’s Toll Collection with MLFF Technology

In a major step towards transforming India’s digital mobility infrastructure, Jio Payments Bank Limited (JPBL) — a subsidiary of Jio Financial Services Ltd. (JFSL) — has secured a significant contract to implement Multi-Lane Free Flow (MLFF) tolling systems at two key toll plazas: Shahjahanpur and Manoharpura on the Gurugram–Jaipur National Highway.

This development marks a major milestone for Jio Financial’s growing presence in the digital payments and smart mobility ecosystem.

What is MLFF Tolling and Why It Matters

The Multi-Lane Free Flow (MLFF) system uses FASTag technology integrated with Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras to enable vehicles to pass through toll plazas without stopping or slowing down.
Toll charges are automatically deducted from users’ accounts, significantly reducing congestion and fuel consumption while improving traffic efficiency.

Industry Impact and Strategic Vision

By introducing next-gen tolling technology, Jio Payments Bank is not only enhancing road user experience but also helping the government transition to a 100% electronic tolling system.
The success of this project could set the stage for a nationwide rollout, where Jio’s technology backbone and financial expertise play a central role in India’s smart highway revolution.

The new MLFF contract win cements Jio Financial’s leadership in the fintech-infrastructure integration space, reinforcing its mission to create frictionless digital ecosystems for consumers and businesses alike.

From payments to highways, Jio continues to redefine how India connects, moves, and transacts.
