JSW Infrastructure IPO Fund Utilisation Update: ₹2,117 Crore Deployed, Jaigarh & Mangalore Projects Progress

JSW Infrastructure Limited has released its latest Monitoring Agency Report for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, providing investors with an update on the utilisation of proceeds from its ₹2,800 crore Initial Public Offering (IPO) launched in September 2023.

Prepared by CARE Ratings Limited, the report offers a detailed review of how the company has deployed IPO funds against the objectives outlined in its offer document. The update shows that JSW Infrastructure has utilised the majority of the funds while continuing to invest in key port expansion projects.

IPO Fund Utilisation at a Glance

As of June 30, 2026, the company has made substantial progress in deploying the IPO proceeds.

Key Highlights

  • Total Net IPO Proceeds to be Monitored: ₹2,726.13 crore
  • Total Amount Utilised: ₹2,117.64 crore
  • Unutilised Balance: ₹608.49 crore

The figures indicate that nearly 78% of the monitored IPO proceeds have already been deployed towards debt reduction, infrastructure development, acquisitions, and corporate growth initiatives.

Major IPO Objectives Successfully Achieved

1. Debt Repayment Completed

JSW Infrastructure has fully utilised ₹880 crore earmarked for the prepayment and repayment of borrowings of its subsidiaries:

  • JSW Dharamtar Port Private Limited
  • JSW Jaigarh Port Limited

The debt reduction initiative strengthens the balance sheets of these subsidiaries while lowering financing costs.

2. Corporate Growth and Strategic Acquisitions

The company has completely deployed ₹666.05 crore allocated for general corporate purposes.

These funds supported several strategic initiatives, including:

  • Acquisition of Marine Oil Terminal Corp.
  • Purchase of equity shares in PNP Maritime Services Private Limited
  • Other corporate growth requirements

These investments are expected to strengthen JSW Infrastructure’s integrated port and logistics ecosystem.

3. Infrastructure Projects Completed

The report confirms successful completion of two major capital expenditure projects:

  • Purchase and installation of a dredger at Jaigarh Port (₹103.88 crore)
  • Construction of an electric sub-station at Jaigarh Port (₹59.40 crore)

Both projects have been completed using the allocated IPO proceeds.

Ongoing Expansion Projects

While most utilisation objectives are progressing as planned, two major infrastructure projects continue to remain under implementation.

LPG Terminal at Jaigarh Port

The company had earmarked ₹865.75 crore for developing the LPG terminal.

  • Amount Utilised: ₹289.29 crore
  • Project Status: Under execution

According to the monitoring report, the project has experienced implementation delays compared to the original IPO schedule. However, the exact completion timeline cannot yet be determined.

Mangalore Container Terminal Expansion

The expansion of the Mangalore Container Terminal also remains in progress.

  • Total Allocation: ₹151.05 crore
  • Amount Utilised: ₹119.02 crore

The project was originally expected to be completed during FY2025, but work is continuing beyond the planned timeline.

Monitoring Agency Notes Fund Management Process

CARE Ratings observed that instead of making payments directly from the designated monitoring account, JSW Infrastructure transferred IPO proceeds into multiple current accounts before utilisation.

This resulted in the commingling of IPO funds with other operational funds. To verify fund utilisation, the monitoring agency relied on:

  • Management declarations
  • Certificates issued by Chartered Accountants
  • Supporting financial documentation

No misuse of funds has been reported, and the monitoring exercise confirmed utilisation based on the available evidence.

Unutilised Funds Invested Safely

The balance of ₹608.49 crore remains temporarily unutilised and has been invested in fixed deposits with leading banks, including:

  • Yes Bank
  • IndusInd Bank
  • Axis Bank

These deposits have maturity dates extending into 2027, allowing the company to preserve capital until it is required for ongoing projects.

Investor Takeaway

The latest monitoring report indicates that JSW Infrastructure has substantially utilised its IPO proceeds in line with the objectives stated in its prospectus. Major allocations for debt reduction, acquisitions, and completed infrastructure projects have already been fully deployed.

The primary areas investors should continue to monitor are the ongoing Jaigarh LPG Terminal and Mangalore Container Terminal expansion, both of which have experienced delays beyond their originally planned completion schedules. Successful execution of these projects is expected to play an important role in the company’s long-term capacity expansion and growth strategy.
