TCS Partners With DGCX to Modernise Derivatives Market Infrastructure
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has partnered with the Dubai Gold & Commodities Exchange (DGCX) to modernise and upgrade the exchange’s derivatives market infrastructure.
Under the partnership, TCS will implement an integrated next-generation platform covering trading, clearing and market surveillance, providing DGCX with a more scalable technology foundation for future growth and product expansion.
The announcement was made by TCS on September 15, 2026.
TCS to Deliver Trading, Clearing and Surveillance Platform
TCS will integrate multiple technology solutions as part of the transformation programme.
The platform will include:
- TCS BaNCS for Market Infrastructure for central counterparty clearing
- Quartz for Surveillance to monitor market manipulation, fraud and abnormal market activity
- TCS BaNCS Securities Trading for multi-asset trading
- TCS Quartz Gateway for industry-standard market connectivity
- Generative AI-powered reporting, analytics and decision-making capabilities
- Exchange trading and matching technology from a global exchange partner
The integrated platform is designed to improve operational efficiency while giving DGCX greater flexibility to develop and launch new products.
DGCX Targets Expansion Across Multiple Asset Classes
The upgraded infrastructure will support DGCX’s derivatives products across several markets, including:
- Energy commodities
- Currencies
- Equities
- Bullion
- Precious metals
The exchange also plans to use the new technology foundation to support expansion into emerging asset classes, including crypto and tokenised assets.
According to DGCX, the partnership is intended to increase its ability to introduce new products while strengthening the infrastructure supporting its existing markets.
Gold Spot T+0 Contract Highlights DGCX’s Product Expansion
The technology upgrade comes after recent product innovation at DGCX.
The exchange launched its Gold Spot T+0 Contract in June 2026, which it described as the GCC’s first same-day physically settled spot gold product offered on a regulated exchange.
DGCX said its infrastructure investment is aimed at supporting the next stage of growth following strong trading volumes in 2025 and the introduction of new products.
Management Commentary
Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Chairman and CEO of DGCX, said the exchange is advancing its infrastructure so that members can access improved risk-management tools and the exchange can strengthen its offerings across energy, currencies, equities and precious metals.
He said the partnership with TCS will provide the technology foundation for DGCX’s next stage of growth while increasing its capacity to develop and bring new products to market.
R. Vivekanand, President, BFSI Products and Platforms, TCS, said financial market infrastructures are balancing rapid innovation with the need for resilience, security and operational robustness.
He said TCS is helping DGCX build a modern and scalable platform through TCS BaNCS, Quartz and partner solutions.
Why the DGCX Partnership Matters for TCS Investors
The partnership strengthens TCS’s positioning in the financial-market infrastructure and capital-markets technology space.
Rather than providing a single technology product, TCS will be involved across several critical functions, including trading, clearing, surveillance, connectivity, analytics and reporting.
This creates an opportunity for TCS to deepen its presence in the global financial-services technology market.
The project also highlights the company’s ability to deploy mission-critical technology for exchanges and financial-market institutions in international markets.
Contract Value Not Disclosed
While the partnership is strategically relevant, TCS has not disclosed the contract value, expected revenue contribution, or financial impact of the DGCX agreement.
Therefore, investors should view the announcement primarily as a business-development and financial-technology opportunity, rather than an immediate earnings catalyst.
The more important developments to watch will be the implementation of the platform, additional products or markets enabled by the technology and whether the relationship leads to further opportunities in the global exchange and market-infrastructure space.
Investor Takeaway
TCS has expanded its financial-market technology footprint through a partnership with DGCX to modernise the exchange’s trading, clearing and surveillance infrastructure.
The project combines TCS BaNCS, Quartz, generative AI capabilities and partner technology to create a scalable platform for existing and emerging asset classes.
For TCS investors, the announcement is positive from a capability, international BFSI, and long-term business-development perspective, although the absence of a disclosed deal value means its near-term financial impact cannot yet be quantified.
