UltraTech Cement Commissions 4.6 MTPA Capacity, Global Capacity Reaches 210.1 MTPA
UltraTech Cement Ltd has commissioned 4.6 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) of additional cement manufacturing capacity, taking its total global capacity to 210.1 MTPA.
The latest expansion includes a 3.6 MTPA greenfield integrated cement facility at Petnikota in Andhra Pradesh and another 1.0 MTPA through debottlenecking at existing plants.
3.6 MTPA Greenfield Capacity at Petnikota
The new Petnikota facility adds 3.6 MTPA of integrated cement capacity in Andhra Pradesh.
The company has also increased output by 1.0 MTPA through debottlenecking at its existing plants in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh; Patratu, Jharkhand; and Nathdwara, Rajasthan.
UltraTech Capacity Reaches 210.1 MTPA
Following the commissioning, UltraTech’s domestic grey cement manufacturing capacity has increased to 204.7 MTPA.
Including its 5.4 MTPA overseas capacity, the company’s global cement manufacturing capacity now stands at 210.1 MTPA.
The company said the additional capacity will strengthen its presence across southern, eastern and northern markets, while also improving market reach and logistics efficiency.
Part of Larger Capacity Expansion Plan
The commissioning comes as UltraTech continues its large-scale capacity expansion programme. Its FY27 roadmap had included 15.9 MTPA of planned capacity additions, including the 3.6 MTPA Petnikota project.
The company had previously stated that further expansion would take its capacity significantly higher over the coming years.
