BSE Acquires 3.33% Stake in India International Bullion Holding IFSC for ₹10.10 Crore

BSE Limited, India’s oldest and one of the country’s leading stock exchanges, has announced a strategic investment in India International Bullion Holding IFSC Limited (IIBH). The company informed the stock exchanges that it has acquired a 3.33% equity stake in IIBH for a total consideration of ₹10.10 crore, strengthening its presence in India’s growing international financial services ecosystem.

Key Highlights of the Investment

According to the regulatory filing, the investment marks another strategic step by BSE to expand its footprint in market infrastructure within the International Financial Services Centre (IFSC).

  • Target Company: India International Bullion Holding IFSC Limited (IIBH)
  • Equity Stake Acquired: 3.33%
  • Investment Amount: ₹10.10 crore
  • Nature of Transaction: Equity investment
  • Regulatory Approval: Transaction completed after obtaining the required approvals, including clearance from the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI).

Strengthening Presence in GIFT IFSC

India International Bullion Holding IFSC Limited is the holding company for the India International Bullion Exchange (IIBX), which operates from GIFT City, Gujarat. GIFT City serves as India’s International Financial Services Centre (IFSC) and is being developed as a global financial hub.

The investment enables BSE to participate in the development of India’s international bullion trading ecosystem. IIBH plays a key role in supporting bullion market infrastructure, with the objective of creating a transparent, efficient, and globally competitive platform for bullion trading.

Strategic Importance

BSE’s investment reflects its long-term strategy of expanding beyond traditional equity trading into new segments of financial market infrastructure. By acquiring a stake in IIBH, the exchange gains exposure to the growing international bullion market and the expanding ecosystem at GIFT City.

The move is also expected to strengthen collaboration across India’s domestic and international capital markets while supporting the country’s vision of positioning GIFT IFSC as a leading global financial centre.

Regulatory Compliance

BSE confirmed that the acquisition has been completed after receiving all necessary statutory and regulatory approvals, including approval from SEBI. The investment has been made in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
