July 23, 2026: Sona BLW Precision Forgings Limited (Sona Comstar) has announced a strategic joint venture with DENSO Corporation, one of Japan’s leading automotive technology companies, to establish a new manufacturing entity in India. The partnership is aimed at developing and manufacturing advanced automotive components, further strengthening Sona BLW’s position in the fast-evolving global mobility sector.
The proposed joint venture combines Sona BLW Precision Forgings’ expertise in precision-engineered automotive systems with DENSO’s technological leadership, creating a strong platform to serve both domestic and international automotive manufacturers.
Joint Venture Structure
Under the proposed arrangement, DENSO Corporation will hold a 51% equity stake in the newly incorporated joint venture company, while Sona BLW Precision Forgings Limited will own the remaining 49%.
The collaboration is expected to leverage the strengths of both companies in engineering, manufacturing, and product development to address the growing demand for advanced automotive components.
Investment Details
Sona BLW Precision Forgings has committed to investing approximately ₹26.22 crore (₹262.15 million) towards its shareholding in the joint venture.
The combined initial investment by both partners for subscribing to the Memorandum of Association of the new company will be approximately ₹53.5 crore (₹535 million).
