Uno Minda Limited Announces Merger with Minda Onkyo India Private Limited

Mumbai, August 4, 2026 – Uno Minda Limited today announced the amalgamation of its subsidiary, Minda Onkyo India Private Limited, with itself. The Board of Directors approved the merger at its meeting held on August 4, 2026, with the appointed date set as April 1, 2026.

Under the approved scheme, shareholders of Minda Onkyo India will receive 6 fully paid-up equity shares of Uno Minda (₹2 each) for every 10,000 fully paid-up equity shares of Minda Onkyo (₹10 each). The equity shares held by Uno Minda in Minda Onkyo India will be cancelled upon the scheme becoming effective.

Speaking on the development, a company spokesperson said:

“This amalgamation is a strategic step to consolidate operations, strengthen financial performance, and enhance efficiencies. With Uno Minda holding 99% in Minda Onkyo India, the merger will simplify the group structure, reduce costs, and create greater synergies for future growth.”

The merger follows Uno Minda’s acquisition of a 99% stake in Minda Onkyo India after the bankruptcy of its joint venture partner, Onkyo Sound Corporation, Japan. The company expects the combined entity to deliver improved profitability, streamlined operations, and a stronger product portfolio in the automotive components sector.
