BLS International Categorically Rejects Allegations of Involvement in Visa Irregularities

BLS International operates an asset-light, tech-enabled government-to-citizen services model focused on two main segments: Visa & Consular Services and Digital Services. In the core visa business, it partners with governments and embassies to handle the administrative front-end of visa and passport applications—document collection, biometric capture, verification, and centre management—while governments retain full authority over approvals; revenue comes from per-application fees and high-margin value-added services such as premium lounges and courier delivery. The faster-growing Digital Services segment, mainly in India, generates income through business correspondent services for banks, Aadhaar enrolment, and assisted e-governance. Together, the dual-engine model delivers volume-driven, cash-generative growth with improving margins, especially as the company shifts more centres to a self-managed format.

Allegation
Spanish media reports (notably from The Objective) stated that Spain’s National Court has expanded its investigation into an alleged visa fraud network at the Spanish Consulate in Algiers. The probe, led by a judge, is examining a network accused of irregularly processing Schengen visas, residence permits, and work permits for Algerian applicants (including those who did not meet formal requirements) in exchange for bribes that reportedly reached up to €25,000 per family. The investigation has been widened to include companies that handle visa appointments and document processing. Reports specifically referred to “processing platforms like BLS,” noting that BLS holds a contract with Spain’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs for managing such administrative services at certain consulates.

Company Reaction
BLS International issued a formal media release and exchange filing on 24 August 2026 in which it categorically rejects any involvement in the alleged irregularities. The company stated:

  • There is no evidence of wrongdoing by BLS International or its employees in relation to the issuance of visas.
  • Its role is strictly administrative and is carried out in accordance with the requirements of the competent authorities.
  • All decisions on processing, issuance, or refusal of visas rest solely with the relevant diplomatic and consular authorities.
  • It remains committed to the highest standards of integrity, transparency, compliance, and service delivery.

Current Condition (as of 24 August 2026 evening)

  • The matter is at the investigation stage based on media reports; no formal charges against the company itself have been publicly confirmed in the available coverage.
  • BLS International’s share price reacted sharply, falling as much as 13–14% intraday (hitting a low near ₹233–237) before recovering partially to close around ₹242, down approximately 10–11% for the day, with heavy trading volumes.
  • The company has publicly denied the allegations and reaffirmed its limited administrative role. No further official updates from Spanish authorities or the company beyond the denial were reported by the end of the trading session.
