HBL Engineering Wins ₹23.99 Crore KAVACH Contract from Integral Coach Factory

HBL Engineering Limited (NSE: HBLENGINE) has secured a new domestic order worth ₹23.99 crore (₹239.97 million), excluding GST, for the supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of On-board KAVACH Equipment Version 4.0. The contract further strengthens the company’s position as a leading technology partner in India’s railway modernization and safety initiatives.

The order has been awarded by the Integral Coach Factory (ICF), Chennai, one of Indian Railways’ premier coach manufacturing units. Under the contract, HBL Engineering will provide complete on-board KAVACH systems, including installation, testing, and commissioning, with the project scheduled for completion by March 31, 2028.

Supporting India’s Railway Safety Mission

KAVACH is India’s indigenous Automatic Train Protection (ATP) system, developed to improve rail safety by preventing collisions, signal passing at danger (SPAD), and overspeeding. The technology forms a key part of the Government of India’s efforts to modernize the railway network while enhancing passenger safety through advanced automation.

The latest order reinforces HBL Engineering’s growing presence in the railway signalling and safety segment, where demand is expected to rise significantly as Indian Railways accelerates the nationwide rollout of KAVACH technology.
