Trom Industries Bags Landmark 42 MW Rooftop Solar Orders, Bolstering Long-Term Revenue Visibility

Trom Industries Limited, a leading solar EPC and clean energy solutions provider, has secured three major work orders from South Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited (SBPDCL) for the implementation of 42 MW Grid-Connected Rooftop Solar Projects under the Government of India’s PM Surya Ghar – Muft Bijli Yojana (PMSG-MBY).

The projects will cover 38,561 consumer installations across three districts in Bihar and further strengthen Trom Industries’ position in India’s rapidly expanding rooftop solar market.

42 MW Rooftop Solar Projects Across Bihar

Under the awarded contracts, Trom Industries will design, supply, install, commission, and maintain rooftop solar systems across multiple regions of Bihar.

The projects are distributed as follows:

Circle Capacity Consumer Installations
Biharsharif 17 MW 15,335
Bhagalpur 15 MW 13,290
Aurangabad 10 MW 9,936
Total 42 MW 38,561

The projects are expected to be completed within nine months, demonstrating the company’s strong execution capabilities in large-scale renewable energy projects.

Long-Term Revenue Through Utility-Led Aggregation Model

One of the key highlights of these orders is the CAPEX plus RESCO Mode Utility-Led Aggregation (ULA) business model.

Unlike conventional EPC contracts, the projects will operate under a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) framework, enabling Trom Industries to generate recurring income from electricity supplied over the tenure of the agreement.

This model is expected to provide:

  • Long-term recurring revenue
  • Better revenue visibility
  • Stable cash flows
  • An annuity-based income stream
  • Diversification beyond traditional EPC revenues

The recurring revenue component could significantly strengthen the company’s long-term financial performance.

Supporting PM Surya Ghar Mission

The projects form part of the Government of India’s PM Surya Ghar – Muft Bijli Yojana, a flagship programme aimed at promoting rooftop solar installations across residential households and accelerating the country’s clean energy transition.

The initiative is expected to create significant opportunities for solar EPC companies while increasing renewable energy adoption and reducing electricity costs for consumers.

Management Highlights Growth Opportunity

Commenting on the development, Jignesh Patel, Managing Director of Trom Industries Limited, said the orders represent an important milestone in the company’s participation in India’s rapidly growing rooftop solar sector.

He noted that the PM Surya Ghar initiative is creating substantial opportunities for experienced EPC companies, and Trom Industries is proud to contribute to one of the country’s largest renewable energy programmes.

Strengthening Position in Renewable Energy

The latest order win reinforces Trom Industries’ growing presence in India’s renewable energy market. By combining EPC execution with long-term power generation revenue under the PPA model, the company is building a more diversified and sustainable business model.

As rooftop solar adoption accelerates across India, Trom Industries appears well-positioned to benefit from rising demand while contributing to the nation’s clean energy goals.
